Hello in effect, just a quick question, could it be possible to do your feyspeeker shifter build for unfair but going with dex focus for finesse and getting Dex to damage with slashing grace focusing on claws? Could it also something similar be done with traditional monk + defender of the true world?
Hello.
So I just finished my first campaign in PK (hard difficulty) and I used a lot of info from your builds.
By and large, thank you very much for the tips and ideas I found in them, combinations of classes and feats I haven't considered myself etc.
That said, I did regret following the whole dazzling display - shatter defenses thing. Overall, I consider it a waste of points. A lot of the enemies in the game are immune to the effects of dazzling display and so I wasted a lot of feats of my companions giving most of them weapon spec (which is not always useful) => DD =>SD plus expert (persuasion) for those who were supposed to do the intimidation.
Imo, those feat points are better spent elsewhere such as will and improved will or fortitude/improved fortitude to have better saves against all those nasty enemies.
The only companion who I liked having DD/SD/Dreadful Carnage thing on is Kineticist, but not so much for the usefulness of it, rather for pretty special effects, that whole spam of dreadful carnages caused by deadly earth and the cloud.

I also wanted to say I'm surprised by some of your class rankings.
Like Cleric, rank B? Seriously? And then A+ for that garbage Ecclesitheurge?
My custom cleric (human, 16/10/12/7/17/14) was like the second most valuable member of my party, after my sylvan sorc. All the buffs, the elemental protection, the AOE healing, the animal companions (aka the best tanks in the game, because every single defensive spell stacks with their naturally decent defenses, also It's no biggie if they die or get negative levels or stats or another pain-in-the-ass debuff, it will all heal on rest), the Ultimate Anti-Boss Weapon known as "Guarded Hearth" + decent defenses and decent damage potential (most of the game my cleric was using reach weapons (as Huge second-row-er), then by the end of the game it was scimitar of the bear god + shield, with frightful aspect and that greater angel form he was really kicking ass, I only regretted that I invested into DD+SD instead of unarmed strike and crane style, so I didn't even use defensive fighting, with it he'd be even better).
It's not even possible to overestimate a base cleric, imo. They're just invaluable, all-in-one kind of class.

I'm also surprised you didn't even mention Tower Shield Specialist. Because of how their feats work, they can make good DEX tanks, wearing heavy armor (which is easier to obtain than those monk robes and high-tier bracers, without cheesing) with tower shield and still having very high DEX (up to +12 at level 15 with mythral full plate) and touch AC. With some charisma and 2 paladin levels on top of that they also become highly resistant to enemies' spells. 16 TSS/2 Paladin/1 Rogue/1 Monk (starting stats like 12-19-10-8-10-16). And because of extra feats they can afford to learn plenty of support stuff blind fight, improved will, penetrating strike etc. A simple, strong, flexible build.

Also when you ranked Wizard, you gave him A- and said "Sub-classes are even worse", but then rated sub-classes as either A or A+.

Hi InEffect, so congratulation for your work.
I am french and my english is not very good.
I use a lot of your buid, it's magic.

I suppose you are very busy, so i have only one question.

Do you know if you will propose some new buid for the new game Wrath Of The Rigtheouse.

I am very interressting by new class like the witch with malefice, Oracle, or chaman.
I am not sur if it is possible to optimize some buid with this class.
I see a new archetype in the class cleric with some attaque like the thief. The name in french is 'Chef de Culte'.

Anyway, i hope thath you will propose some nmew build.

Bye bye and continue your job.
I think you can ask some wage at Outlaw compagnie. Serious with your help, a lot of people play at this game.

the guide for wotr will be hosted on neoseeker for many reasons. Mainly for better formatting. It's WIP, but some of it is already done, albeit will likely change a fair bit as the bugs are fixed and the meta knowledge for that one progresses in the same way it happened with PK. Here's the link

Hi I have been looking at some of your builds specifically your Saint Vivisector and I would just like to know why you choose the lion claw and falacta over something such as scimitars . As looking at the lions claw statically it doesn't seem better than other or does the extra crit multi combined with other damage bonuses such as strength just carry the weapon to be the best choice?
Hi, first I want to thank you because your guide is very useful so far in my first play-through in hard.
My question is that what would be a good build for a melee bard Valerie if you can respec her(I usually respec all my companions in CRPG except their race/gender/alignment etc.)? She is one of two tanks in my team and my only bard(not taking linzi) but I am not sure if I should also let her be some damage dealer or just bard.

Final Build: Inquisitor 3/Cleric(Herald Caller) 17

Main skills: Perception, Lore: Religion, Lore: Nature, Knowledge: Arcana
Suggested secondary skills: -

Detailed leveling breakdown:
Lvl 2: Cleric
Lvl 3: Cleric - Selective Channel
Lvl 4: Cleric
Lvl 5: Cleric - Spell Focus: Necromancy
Lvl 6: Cleric
Lvl 7: Cleric - Outflank
Lvl 8: Cleric
Lvl 9: Cleric - Greater Spell Focus: Necromancy
Lvl 10: Cleric
Lvl 11: Cleric - Exotic Weapon Proficiency: Fauchard*
Lvl 12: Cleric
Lvl 13: Inquisitor - Combat Reflexes
Lvl 14: Inquisitor - Seize the Moment
Lvl 15: Cleric - Improved Critical: Fauchard
Lvl 16: Cleric
Lvl 17: Cleric - Weapon Focus: Fauchard
Lvl 18: Cleric
Lvl 19: Cleric - Combat Expertise**
Lvl 20: Cleric

*Technically, we could’ve used Scythe, but it’s total suffer till you get Righteous Might. I don’t like needless suffering.
**Optional. Can be swapped for whatever you like better. Precise Strike is a good alternative.

Spells by level in order of importance:
Lvl 1: Cure Light Wounds, Divine Favor, Shield of Faith
Lvl 2: Cure Moderate Wounds, Restoration(Lesser), Boneshaker*
Lvl 3: Cure Serious Wounds, Blindness, Resist Energy(Communal), Delay Poison(Communal), Bestow Curse*
Lvl 4: Divine Power, Protection from Energy(Communal), Cure Critical Wounds, Crusader’s Edge
Lvl 5: Righteous Might, Boneshatter, Geniekind, Slay Living*
Lvl 6: Eaglesoul, Heal, Harm, Circle of Death*
Lvl 7: Bestow Grace of the Champion, Greater Restoration
Lvl 8: Death Clutch, Frightful Aspect, Angelic Aspect, Horrid Wilting *
Lvl 9: Heal(Mass), Wail of Banshee*

*Usable Domain Spell, rest should be used for Summoning/Damage. Cause Fear is ok early, but becomes obsolete fast.

Inquisitor Spells: True Strike, Remove Fear

Sample Spellbook:
Lvl 1: Cure Light Wounds x2+, Divine Favor x2+, Shield of Faith x1, Cause Fear(D) x1
Lvl 2: Cure Moderate Wounds x2+, Restoration(Lesser) x2, Boneshaker(D) x1+
Lvl 3: Cure Serious Wounds x2+, Blindness x1, Resist Energy(Communal) x1, Delay Poison(Communal) x1, Bestow Curse(D) x1
Lvl 4: Divine Power x2, Protection from Energy(Communal) x1, Cure Critical Wounds x2, Crusader’s Edge x1, Enervation(D) x1
Lvl 5: Righteous Might x2, Boneshatter x1-2, Geniekind x2, Slay Living(D) x1
Lvl 6: Eaglesoul x2, Heal x1+, Harm x1, Circle of Death(D) x1
Lvl 7: Bestow Grace of the Champion x1+, Greater Restoration x2, Disintegrate(D) x1
Lvl 8: Death Clutch x1, Frightful Aspect x1, Angelic Aspect x1, Horrid Wilting(D) x1
Lvl 9: Heal(Mass)x1+, Wail of Banshee(D) x1

Gear: Longspear before you get decent Fauchard from Master or traders at the Tournament. Medium Armor, +AC items, +Stat Items, Cloak of Sold Souls.

Nice Evil Cleric for your party. Eaglesoul bumps her STR right where it would be if she was investing stats there, has a number of self-buffs and high necromancy DC, especially if you choose undead path for her.

Herald Caller allows you to transform spells into summons, which will come in handy as you don’t always want those inflict wounds spells, as well as all summoning feats with no investments. Urgathoa domains kinda suck, so it’s pretty pointless to get 2nd one.

Healing Potential is so-so. Will probably need a half-caster with you(Jubilost will do). Won’t matter late as you are drowning in gold by then and can just buy heal and mass heal scrolls. Also you can make use of all the pots you usually sell to vendors.

Will need some minor perception boosting item for 35 per to spot dragon lair, otherwise should have enough for everything.
Hi Inneffect,

I'm following this guide and I just got eaglesoul. Is there something I'm supposed to do to counter the stagger it puts on Jaethal?

A variation of trip vivisectionist. Lots of AB, lots of bites good damage, loads of AoO’s and so on.

Has sensei so you can drop a bard if you want to. You get at least some of it back. If you plan oh keeping a bard around - take traditional monk instead. Also would

Can Dazzle himself, but prefers not to.

Can make use of CE helm early-game.

Crane Wing/Riposte work with whatever on the current patch.

Credit to haplok for build concept. I just tossed things around a tiny bit to my preference, and streamlined the build notes. Posted it here mostly for reference.
Hello InEffect, thx a lot for your builds, I'm new to pathfinder and I've been using them and learning a lot about the game, can this build be used with another weapon, like a rapier or dueling sword? Haven't really found a good Fauchards....

Have you tried making a viable unarmed fist monk build? In Neverwinter Nights with older rulesets they were crazy strong, but I don't see many mentions of them in Pathfinder.

How is this ability distribution possible? With 25 point buy, the best I can get with human is
Str: 7
Dex: 17
Con: 16
Int: 7
Wis: 10
Cha: 16

Am I missing something fundamental here?

Update - Just found the racial bonus button. Sorry. Humans get +2 to any ability.

Hello, new player here. First of all, thank you so much for these guides! Trying to follow this guide. I started as a monk and get alchemist vivisectionist as instructed, but the only spells available at level up from 1 to 2 are Shield and True Strike. What other 4 spells should I get at this time as none of the others on this list show up. I have the options in the screenshot. Also, a bit more guidance on the skills per level would be much appreciated!

Magus Spells that are good to add Empower to: Frigid Touch, Vampiric Touch

Gear: best 1h you can get, Plate Armor(light till lvl7, medium till 17), +AC items. +Str +Cha +Con items.

Becomes decently competent tank from level 5 and on. Gets better as he gains access to medium armor. Won’t deal crazy damage, but is good enough on that department. Takes a bit of time to develop and has 1 feat wasted. Near-perfect stat distribution and the amount of said stats remedy the situation. At least he is a whole lot better than merc would be. A-

Do not use DC spells. You do not have stats for them to begin with. And we went for tanky feats. That leaves no space for all those Spell feats. Use touch attacks and buffs instead.

Dragon breath is your main AoE tool. Use it well.

Transformation will disable spell-casting. Be sure to buff before using it. It is a good tool when you need a warrior more than you need a half-mage.

Doesn't really get married to a weapon.

General Strategy: Buff to the best of your ability and go in. Use touch attacks when you need a boost to damage. Use Arcane Weapon as needed. Breath Weapon is a serviceable AoE spell - use it wisely.
I don't see Dodge or Arcane Accuracy available at level 3. I'm guessing I need to respec him, but I don't see that the BarleyFlour Respec mod works for Kingmaker.
