It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Don't use feature "disable fullscreen optimization" with this game or you will disable all musics...

jnisbet: The reason why changing the name of olwin.exe to something else fixes the music is that the GOG installer adds compatibility settings to the registry which apply to olwin.exe, but not to executables with different names.

The offending registry settings are in the following locations:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\AppCompatFlags\Custom\olwin.exe

Delete that key (folder).

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\AppCompatFlags\Layers

In that key (folder), find the value that points to olwin.exe, double-click it and remove "DISABLETHEMES" from the list.

Of course, it's an easier solution to simply rename olwin.exe, but this is what you can do if you're comfortable with editing the registry.

Edit: Here's a registry file that I've made to do the edits for you. Paste the lines into a text file, name it something.reg and double-click it.

Thank you so much! That gave me Outlaws music back. With Outlaws, music is 50% of the experience!
On Windows 11 Pro here and the no music problem is back.

Tried for hours and followed every tip and trick given in the forums, but no luck.

Got desperate and bought another copy of Outlaws from the well known competitors storefront for 5 bucks.

Music is working there out of the box in Windows 11 Pro.

Both versions are 2.0MD RC6.

This year The Force Engine is supposed to get support for Outlaws. So maybe things get better for gog.com Outlaws buyers in the next time. :)
Checked again with Windows 10 - no problems, music is playing. So that must be something new to Windows 11. No one else here using that?

Experiencing the same thing with Windows 11. I will update if I figure it out.

Update: Figured this out. I got it working through the following:

- Put IndirectSound - a directsound DLL wrapper - in the game's installation directory. Retrieved from https://www.indirectsound.com/
- in the game's config program, run with "DirectSound" and the highest audio bitrate and channels settings available.

The binary's name and any Windows compatibility options did not seem to affect anything.

Didn't work for me, unfortunately. I didn't mess with the dsound.ini though.
I confirm that music doesn't work, but this is not a windows 11 problem, it's a Galaxy version problem...

in Outlaws folder winmm.dll is missing

Offline version works just fine

edit: we have to use offline version... they say that we have a problem with antivirus, but is not true...
