Sometimes I wonder if the posters on here have chronic Asperger's or something due to the crazy things that are said in anger. There will be a certain percentage of people who will have trouble getting the game to run for a variety of reasons. Games get released before they're ready and then get a few patches soon after. It sucks but happens a lot. Now, if Hello Games can't get most of the performance and launch issues solved by the end of the month, then it's fairly reasonable to reach for the torches and pitchforks. But day two? No, that's not even enough time to realistically research the issues being reported. Remember, there will be people with legitimate issues and there will be ding-a-lings trying to run the game on their $900 POS computer built with all the wrong parts that's virus-infested and running a bazillion background processes. Unfortunately, there's no way to pre-sort the real issues from the self-inflicted ones before they reach the eyes and ears of Hello Games so they have to go through them all as best they can. For now, just chill and play another game for a few days and then check back periodically. This isn't the end of the world! I've been playing NMS non-stop since it was released and I'd really feel dumb if it didn't work and I got mad and got a refund only to have it patched a few days or weeks later.

ok but game sucks and is bad
It's a vocal minority, but this kinda thing makes me glad I wasn't born in the 90s or 00s. No sane individual would be or is reacting the way you've seen, they're getting on with their lives, waiting a little bit for a fix or improvement. These are just mostly weirdos, social outcasts and spoilt brats.

Well, you shouldnt... people with major issue asking for a refund are doing the sensible thing; nothing is preventing them from re-buying the game again any time they want, and it's not that the price will go UP in the future, so at worst they will pay the exact same amount without losing anything.

You'll feel a lot more dumber if you had gambled your $60 on a patch, let the 30 days refund window expire, and realize the game still run crap on your system...

It hasn't quite been 30 days yet though. They may as well wait a few weeks, and you'd expect it to be alright by then. There is a chance that anyone with the game before the fixes will get some sort of bonus as an apology, usually the way.

But that all requires a little thinking about it, they'd rather just waste effort fussing over a refund and complaining loudly. Then complain about not getting an immediate refund, because now they'd rather 'the man' put all its effort in giving refunds to the gun-jumpers rather than fixing the problems that caused them to demand a refund.

Just all needs a little thought and logic.

You are probably right, but then again one has to "expect" that it will be OK and for "a chance" of something that "usually" happens... I can't blame them for taking the certain path over what you call logic, but more like wishfull thinking, and only *after* the game is fixed, spend the same money again with no side effect.

So, yes, waiting a few days won't hurt anyone, but other than that, given the state of the game, a refund is a win-win scenario: if the game fixes turn out good, you could still have it for the same amount, if not, you dodged a $60 bullet

They're causing themselves more aggro fussing over a refund and when it's going to come, then having to go through the exhausing process (at least to the stereotypical lazy gamer) or having to buy it again. And not win-win if the people who didn't refund get something cool as fuck in the game.

Be better off just playing something else for a bit, have some fun, save the effort. But I think they want the aggro. If their game's messed up, they want to make the whole situation as dramatic and tragic as possible now.

ozzyoscy: having to buy it again.
I would laugh if buy again they made them pay a 50$ reshelving fee.
so that would be 60$ + 50$

In UK, what does the price of No Man's Sky get you?

Over here, 60 EUR is like a week's worth of quality food and you can go to a cinema or go out with your friends and still have some money left at the end of the week (some people live with that kind of money for the entire month, then again, I assume those kind of people won't be purchasing a 60 EUR game.) When a game doesn't work, spending like 10 minutes to ask for a refund seems like a completely reasonable move. Additionally, if refunds hit Sony / Hello Games hard enough, they'll think twice on releasing an unfinished game next time around.

I doubt anyone made a choice between getting the game and getting fed, no one sane anyway.

I also doubt every single person demanding an immediate refund and lashing out on the internet are doing so because they lack money, more likely they have plenty of disposable income and don't appreciate what they have and how small a problem this is.

You have completely missed the point. In various parts of the world, asking price for this game has various realistic values and various meanings. Of course you're going to buy an expensive game out of your disposable income, doing anything else but that would be slightly insane. Then again, disposable income is also limited and by getting a refund, you can buy something else. Quite a lot of it over here in fact. I only gave the week worth of quality food with some money left as a vague metric of how much value that kind of money is over here.

I mean... When the game doesn't really work there's not much to appreciate, is there? :-P

Can not agree more?

https://www.gog.com/support/website_help/money_back_guarantee

Well, there's a reason why we post the system requirements on each game's page: so you can see for yourself what you'll need to have on your rig in order to be able to run the game. If your game doesn't work because you misread our system specs, all we can really offer is that we're sorry for you. :( Please note that we also cannot provide support if you're trying to run our games through virtual machine software.
Sad much?

1) Nope. Valve was already forced to introduce a no questions asked refund by numerous consumer protection lawsuits. Sooner or later, GOG will have to follow. You're lucky it'll likely apply in US too.
2) Hundreds of people are already getting refunds to No Man's Sky on Steam and that's where majority of Hello Games income comes from
3) I waited for reviews before buying the game, so uh... I don't need a refund :-P
4) Majority of people reporting issues with No Man's Sky surpass minimal requirements, which is the only thing the clause you have quoted applies to, so that's not even relevant. Reading is a good skill to have, isn't it?
