People, who cannot play complain. So they are heard and seen in a big way.
People, who can play do play. They are not seen and heard of.

BTW I got my share on Activision and EA games. I don't get a share of that now. I decided against it several years ago.

Standards on PCs get defined. Yes I know that. But even in big company environments standards were defined but never executed (I know that from more than 20 years experience.). That's why I said that there are just too many rigs out there and optimizatione for that is difficult at least. Whenever I get into any games forum I always find people who cannot play and need support to help them tweak their system. But in order to tweak a system you need to know what needs to be tweaked. Usually it takes some time to gain such knowledge.

ozzyoscy: Ok now I've gone from skimming your posts to full on shutting down. I didn't read this as my eyes are glazing over, more lengthy multiquotes, more mindnumbing aruging probably, more anger/frustration. This is not an ideal reaction to the suggestion of chilling.
avatar
RSColonel_131st: So basically "chilling" means you
Ok I read up to here as I can see this is going to be a similarly ranty and argumentative and most certainly unchilled post. The forum warriors are coming out. Play some games, people, be happy and friendly like, sheesh.

nipsen: So it's not as if the people who fronted the most valuable thought-goods and scientific principles that survived for 100s of years were "dispassionate and objective", with the standard we hold as an ideal for any analyst or scientist today. But every one of them actively commented and engaged, passionately, to the point of political activism and even violence, in reacting to what was happening around them.
The point of my previous post was that it's rather important to make a clear distinction between goal and methods to achieve it. I am passionate about my job, for instance, and care about results of my work. However, while working, I need to be as dispassionate as possible in order to not get emotionally invested in my work and to be able to step back and see a bigger picture.

Similarly, I'm passionate about gaming and even gaming politics sometimes - like, for instance, rampant fans blaming consumers for publisher's fault. However, I know that letting emotion into that discussion won't help me advance my thoughts, it'll muddy them up at best - so I don't.

It's true that every piece of software has its own challenges and you will only mostly hear vocal minority. However, when every other PC review mentions performance problems, it ceases to be a case of freak accidents and becomes an issue of quality assurance on the side of developer.

Argument
: a discussion in which people express different opinions about something

I wonder who would ever visit discussion boards to do that.

I've no idea why I've received a notification that someone who's been informed I stopped reading and who is no doubt denying forum addiction is still replying to me...

So the guy who insulted a lot of members here as "spoiled brats, social outcasts..." etc. is now asking to be "friendly-like". Yeah, sure. Maybe take your own advice?

I accept you conceding that you have nothing valuable to add to the discussion, don't let the door hit you.

How would I insult a lot of members? I've only encountered a handful. I don't know why you're getting upset now, who even are you? You sound like I've insulted you if and when I said the above, but to be insulted you must think I was describing you specifically, which means you concur...

If you are suffering from amnesia then you can always re-read what you wrote in your initial thread reply. And no, I didn't feel myself addressed there, but I still enjoy pointing out to you that you need to take your own advice on friendlyness.

Why would I re-read some old post I apparently made? You guys are on forums way too much, looking too much for arguments, I'm still constantly being brought back to this thread by random replies looking for conflict, not gonna happen, I'm not hostile.
avatar
ozzyoscy: I'm not hostile.
You've been insulting and patronizing, so maybe get a new dictionary that explains to you what "hostile" includes.

Welcome to my personal ignore list.

RSColonel is likely one of Fenixp's alt..
See fenixp has admitted to making alt accounts but in their sick twisted drug filled mine its to "protect themself"

lol yup... fenixp protects themself cause other mean people use multiple accounts to attack them...
Why do my posts all get instant down voted with no one reading them again?

Welcome to the shit hole... just tell the garbage exactly how they can kill themselves as they think they are big bad asses on forum.

sbaumjr: This is one of those games that would have benefited from early access. The problem is that they wouldn't have sold as many copies of the game probably. So it came down to money versus PC quality. If it had come out in early access a lot more people would have known it wasn't the game for them. But, on the positive side they would have found out about a lot more of these issues.
avatar
Fenixp: Would they make a lot less money? Right now they've made an inferior product, Sony gets a presumably not tiny cut and they lost a ton of goodwill with gaming community. If the team is 15 people large I'm pretty sure that even on lower price point and in early access, they'd be drowning in money by now.
I agree they would probably still be swimming in money, but I think they would have sold less units. Then again, maybe more people would have bought it in early access expecting features to be added later.

My point is that the game probably would have had a better launch and peoples expectations would have likely been more appropriate if they had early access versus using game promos and interviews to determine what the game would be like.

Welcome to my personal ignore list.
Now why are you telling me about some creepy 'personal ignore list'? Why don't you just put me on it? You're looking for conflict and you're annoyed I'm not participating.
avatar
dalelc: FACT - You press E once to start the game (the first time and then never again)
Most software go into file then quit. NMS options then quit. (nope not good enough give me a refund)
These reasons are pathetic, try I don't like the game.
Why are you here? You don't have the game, you don't want to play the game. Do you go to all sites of games you don't have just to ridicule?
FACT - YOU are just being an asshole.
Weren't you just complaining about someone having alts? lol

Yes. Insert lol variants.

My replies are getting more and more abrupt and off-topic, yet people quoting me in this thread continues. It's very odd but shows the hostility in some forum users.

Could be anal retentiveness.

I used to be anal retentive but nowadays I do my best to be anal expulsive. lol
