There are several issues with Massive Assault Phantom Renaissance that I wish to be made known to you guys,
I have filed a ticket with support with all points except point 5 but I think the rest of you know about some of the standing issues with the game.

1. Outdated version:
the version that you offer for download is not the most recent version.

GOG Version is: 2.0.126
The Latest Patch Available is: 2.0.164

2. Pressing F1 to invoke help CRASHES the game.

3. The Default Volume Levels are all set to 0%

4. Training Mission 2 goes to fast to realize what to do I can't explain it any better then that

5. The Data Folder is smaller then the retail install (I think this has no bearing on anything so far)

I forgot to send point 5 to support.

Edit 1a:
New Issues:
1. No useful text in training mission sc_train_o7_00 and the voice is in russian which for russian speakers they will figure out just fine. But I dont know russian.

2. Crash on the orbital station thunder map after a couple of rounds, is worked around by loading a save or autosave before the crash so far occurs on windows 7

3. Units become invisible upon reloading a save game for the hotseat multiplayer mode.
(I have been unable to reproduce this issue.)

4.Disclosure Unit Select crash: http://www.gog.com/forum/massive_assault_series/issues_with_the_gog_version_of_phantom_reniassance/post22

5. No English Voice Over for the campaigns as discovered here: http://www.gog.com/forum/massive_assault_series/english_briefings

Edit 2:
I have made a 7z that has fixes for most of these problems until GOG can bang out an official update:
FIX PACK IS NO LONGER NEEDED DUE TO LATEST UPDATE FROM GOG GO DOWNLOAD IT NOW! ITS IN YOUR SHELF!
Edit: Feb 06 2015 update V2 with scripts from my CD install to fix some crashes that some have been experiencing, also some experimental fixes.
Edit: Feb 07 2015 update V3 fixes MISSING ENGLISH VO in the campaign mode.

Notice: In order to fix these issues, I am using my patched to 2.0.164 CD version of the game to provide these fixes. if you do NOT wish to use this fixpack then just wait until GOG releases a update for the game 02/09/2015: GoG's Product team is now aware of the issues with MA:PR hopefully they see this thread.

The file includes the following fixes:
The missing help.txt file
The missing 2.0.164 patch
Fixed training missions including some text for the above mentioned issue relating to train_07 including what I feel is the best title.
Instructions on how to install all of it.

!!IMPORTANT NOTICE!!: Version 3 of the fixpack will remain the LAST version of it until I hear from GOG Support, and even then its only meant to be a stop gap until a proper update is put out by GOG, because at this rate I might as well just package the entire game for download minus gog's executable and I dont want to do that, because having to zip up the english VO for the game ballooned the size from a mere 45 - 50 megs to about 475 megs in size. This does not mean I wont be around to offer support for my fixpack it just means work on it has halted. Sorry if this causes problems, I will do my best to help but continue to post bugs with the game as you find them, when I do hear from support I will point them in the direction of the thread and inform you if/when action is taken.

Update 02/09/2015

I have heard back from support and GoG's product team have been informed of the issues with PR.
If/When I hear from them I will inform them of this thread or hopefully they check the forum.

Update 02/10/2015

GOG has released a update that has fixed the vast majority of the issues I reported in this thread, so I have removed the download links to my fixpack, if something new pops up I may create a new one.

How do you determine which version you're running? I'm rocking the gamersgate version and if I'm short a patch I'd love to know.

Lord_Kane: There are several issues with Massive Assault Phantom Renaissance ...
Have big issue here too (the game crash so much for me, I can't even finish the first training mission : it crash when I select the unit, or tell it to go where it must go. On other game modes, crashs are almost as much usual). I submitted a ticket yesterday, pointing to things you're talking (the version number, the weird name of training mission, the always crashing issue, the russian language).
I suspect the game was badly patched and in a way, it corrupted the game with it's version and language.

I sent them my guess (in a complement ticket after having described my problems) :
"On the main menu, you can see on the upper left that the game is v.2.0.127. On game folder, We can see some files called "lang.2.0.136.dat" and "local.2.0.136.dat" (like if a more recent english update was made : the v.2.0.136). In top of that, it appears that the lastest version is version 2.0.164 (update which doesn't seems to have been applied to the GOG version). You can find them all here : http://www.patches-scrolls.de/patch/1307
And it looks like (thanks to this patch page) that the v2.0.127 is a russian patch.
On one of my crash-log generated by the game, one of the missing file is "sc_train_01_11.wav". I looked onto my game folder for this file: it was here. I listened to it : it's in russian (or another slavic language). So my guess is : the game in english was patched with the russian patch v.2.0.127, and after with the english patch v.2.0.136, creating some corruption/troubles with language gamefiles.
And I think the game (the english basic version) needs only the latest patch to work : the v.2.0.164 patch (in english, of course). Not any intermediate patch." Or it needs only two patch : the v.2.0.136 and the v.2.0.164.

But I may be wrong of course. I simply hope they'll solve this soon ! (but I'm not worried, I trust'em :))
But I talked a little about this on the release thread, for people having a little warn before buy (here).

Edit : I tried your fix, unfortunately, I still have crashs (nothing seem to have changed). But still, thanks for it :)

On the main menu (when you have launched the game and can choose between single player, Hot-Seat, Options...) you can see your version number on the upper left.

I don't get any number in the upper-left. The only clue the game gives me is the wargaming.net copyright from 2002-2008 on the lower left, so unless that patch came out after 2008, I guess I've got the latest version.

I also get way less crashes than the gog customers are complaining about. The only place it happens is on the orbital station thunder map after a few rounds, and even then I can reload the autosave and plow past that round to finish the match. This is on Windows 7 64 bit.

Here's hoping when gog gets things patched properly the crashes go down for everyone else!

I have included an image to show where it is, I actually had to do this while in a game because for some reason you cant take a screenshot during the main menu and an arrow pointing to it, it says 2.0.164 on mine because I installed the 2.0.164 patch over the 2.0.126 version gog has at the moment.

Imgur link: http://i.imgur.com/G0wDO6R.jpg

I also attached it for those that dont feel like going to imgur.

And yes I have encountered that crash on Orbital Station thunder will add it to the list above and inform support when I hear from them.

Nope, still doesn't display anywhere. Not from the main menu, not in-mission, not anywhere.

Lord_Kane: Sorry to hear about your crashing issue, for me the first training mission had no issues.
Lucky you, you can play XD

I received an answer : "we forward to Product team who will investigate", with "Please install the current drivers from AMD" (which I can't due to a bug on their latest driver which disable my screen's backlight). I played the game (not the GOG version I mean) on this computer, with this graphic card, with this driver : all was running fine. (I don't want to be rude against GOG support in saying this ! I'm sure they do their best).

Look may be on your folder, for a file named "changes.txt", there may be the version number of the latest patch applied (but I may be wrong).

the changes.txt file for 2.0.164 exists IN the GoG version but for some reason it still shows up as 2.0.126 in the game, its bizzare.

Yes, I discovered this after sending my support tickets. I don't know what happened with the GOG version. I really think it must all be simply a bad mix of patches (but it's only my guess).

Woaow... I see... Interesting for one of the best and most-played Free-to-play O_o
Yes of course, it may be due to Wargaming (I didn't wanted to blame someone in particular ^^). When you see what happened for Omerta... But tlaking about Wargaming, I read somewhere that they disabled the Hot-seat option on steam versions oO That's not nice at all for steam users (but fortunately, we seems have it on GOG versions, which is a great thing ^^) .
I just hope that problems and the solution will be simple, and fast solved :)

Edit : And I forgot, about your OP : in contrary to you, my game doesn't have sounds levels set to 0% by default, they seems normally preset. (another strange thing when you see that yours were presets to 0%)
And I'm on Windows 7 64 bits !

With World of Tanks, they arent bad, but a few patches have had issues, when they changed the physics in about 2011-2012 so tanks arent glued to the ground (and it looks much better today), resulted in some very comical bugs Recently when they put out HD Tanks the HD M4 Sherman would cause people to crash, and another recent HD model had a completely messed up collision model (the model that determines where you can hit a tank and what armor a tank has) there were some badly mauled up patches before those recent blunders, but thats why they instituted common testing for patches that are about a month away to make sure they get most issues, things still slip by and there are still some ancient bugs that plague the game to this day.

Dont get me wrong while I will make fun of Wargaming I still enjoy World of Tanks and will still likely play for years to come, but no company is perfect, even our beloved GOG has flaws.

I dont know anything about the Steam versions so I cant comment about it.

Lord_Kane: ...
Interesting. Yeah, problems, bugs etc always happens ! (even on "best games") The real important thing is how they deal with it (and with people). Even GOG as flaws, of course, but for what I saw, they try to do their best and to listen to us.

For steam, here is where I was able to read it.
