Mcl_BlueMadness: Hey Paradoks, any estimative on when you can update the op? Because that proper intro for Soul Reaver 1 would hit the spot just about now. ;)
I'll try to do a small update before Wednesday. I'm not even sure whether they haven't updated the intro in the meantime. I'll check and reupload if necessary.

I don't know about GOG, but I can guarantee you that the Steam version still has the wrong intro, and I know for sure that the fix works for that one too, so... =D
Come on Paradoks, where's that delicious intro? ;)
Will be up by the end of the week. Promise :-).
An update! Unbelievable, I know.

Anyway, a short change log:

Done:
- updated download links,
- corrected Eidos forums links to their Square Enix forums counterparts (explanation in original post),
- included information about Nosgoth game,
- added Blood Omen 1 GOG wishlist link,
- some minor wording changes and spelling corrections.

To do:
- prepare Soul Reaver 1 technical issues section,
- convert and uplaod Defiance voice recording sessions,
- update some parts in other technical issues sections (like keyboard controls in SR2).

Next update will not come earlier than the middle of February. Again, sorry for keeping everyone waiting.
omfgyes intro so awesome
sending to all my friends
Thanks man! =D
I found a new widescreen fix for Soul Reaver 2 - I tested it the same way I tested the previous one and, amazingly, it didn't have the invisible enemies glitch! It seems to be working just fine. I didn't play through the whole game with it because I just did it in stretch-o-vision, but check it out: http://ps2wide.net/pc.html
SR1 intro download links seem to be dead.

Are there any licensing issues or whatever that prevents GOG to update the game with the correct intro video?

I know it's not a big problem but it's a bit of a shame that we don't have the final version of the monologue when the writing is one of the best aspect of the series.

Thanks for the information. I will try to re-upload the files some time next week.

And no, there aren't any legal issues with the intro. Wrace (the author of the Bink patch) simply used an incorrect file. GOG just used that patch and other stores used GOG's version. It wasn't updated because nobody in management knows/cares.
Thank you again.

If it's just an oversight I think I'll write a mail to support once your downloads are up again
A small update - I'm currently stuck outside of my "headquarters" on a really slow connection. The update is coming but is scheduled for the end of next week. Sorry for inconvenience.
I really should stop giving exact dates because I keep failing them :-/. Sorry, run into some technical issues (on top of some other "surprises"). Hopefully I'll have it all resolved soon.

Hello again. An actual update this time. The links are back up (just in case - no, you don't need an account to download, just close the first pop-up window and then click download again). As an "apology" I have finally uploaded Defiance voice sessions, which surprisingly are still not available as official goodies here. The Nosgoth section has been "updated". I intend to update the technical sections as well but I can give no dates on that.
Again, I'm sorry for keeping you all waiting.
So I was getting choppy sound and repeating dialogue. I found some instructions that worked and im using without any patches.
What I did was I changed my audio to 16bit 44.1 to 24bit 44.1 and it seemed too worked.

So to change your sound go into control panel.
Click Change system sounds.
Click on playback and click the speakers.
In advanced change the sound too 24 bit 44100 hz.

edit
Dialogue still repeats itself.
