Judging by screenshots H&D 2 does not have widescreen support, Will we get it in the future?

Got the same question because this is must to know before buying.
I still have original CDs somewhere but was unable to run the game in widescreen.
Try with this http://dege.freeweb.hu/dgVoodoo2.html

I'd like to know too. That's specifically something that I was hoping for if these games ever came to GOG. I still have my original H&D2 installed but it only maxes out at 1600X1200. The only fix I've ever seen over the years is a tweak using a hex editor which I never wanted to try because I believe it cuts the icons on the bottom in half. If GOG didn't specify whether they were able to get Widescreen support or not I fear that its probably not so. If GOG comes up with something though it'd be great but I'm not sure its possible.
If this doesn't support widescreen I'm not even going to buy it.
There is no widescreen support out of the box but there is a workaround, how you can run the game in widescreen.

But it seems that the picture only gets streched to the appropriate size.

I'm extremely excited to see this game finally on sale digitally, but yeah it's important to at least have a viable widescreen workaround, or even officially added into the game itself.
Would be great if someone comes up with something, anything that doesn't stretch the screen.

I am playing the first one at the moment and for that game there is an externial setup program where you can choose widescreen support. You are sure that this is not the case for the second one? Would be a shame since i was thinking about picking this one up when i was done with the first one.
I do get black square artifacts in the menus with the fix though... Trying to solve this.

Edit: Unchecking "fast video memory access" fixed the issue.

Just wanted to say that this also worked perfectly for me. I had to check the vysnc box to get it running smooth on a gysnc monitor, but otherwise it was easy to set up and looks great in 4K. If you're holding off on buying for lack of widescreen support, given how easy it is to implement by dropping a handful of dlls in your game directory, i wouldn't.

DgVoodoo2 is a great program. Lets play Splinter Cell and Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow with buffer shadows and even apply DX11 effects like ambient occlusion
