skowronek: Chiming in here as this also worked for me.

1. Shutdown all instances of any GOG application or service
2. Copy/backup %ProgramData%\GOG.com\Galaxy\storage\galaxy-2.0.db > galaxy-2.0 Copy.db
3. Download and install a SQLite IDE (I used HeidiSQL)
4. Connect to galaxy-2.0.db
5. Run the recommended SQL query below
6. Launch GOG
7. Profit!

INSERT INTO ProductConfiguration(ProductID,createdAt)
SELECT productID, CURRENT_TIMESTAMP
FROM InstalledBaseProducts
WHERE NOT EXISTS (SELECT 1 FROM ProductConfiguration WHERE InstalledBaseProducts.productID = ProductConfiguration.productID);
Wow! I didn't expect anyone to edit the database directly. Not bad :)

As always, though, be careful with such things (that point about backing the DB up is very good) as it may screw things up for GOG GALAXY.

woytazGOG: Apologies for the problems! The hotfix has now been released.

If you are affected by this bug, please download the GOG GALAXY installer. It will allow you to install the hotfix (2.0.49) on top of your existing installation, preserving all your local data (so you don't have to re-import the games).
Can I ask the question of exactly how this happened, why the call was made to release, and what measures are in place to prevent it happening again?
Where can I find this galaxy-2.0.db file? It is not in the GOG Folder
Updated today and got this error, judging from the fix posted I'm just going to uninstall Galaxy, aint nobody got time for that, I wanna come home from work and spend what limited time I have free playing games not attempting to hack into the matrix because of some crap update that wasn't QC'd properly before being pushed onto me.

Edit: I see it was recently fixed by downloading and reinstalling the launcher... honestly not something I should need to do but okay I guess...

There's no need to do anything with the database manually anymore, just install over the top of your existing installation with the latest installer.
I solved problem by using GOG's own fix

Thank you to everyone in forum for their fix for the problem or for trying to fix it , Thank you all !!!!

Also thank you to GOG for a speedy fix of their huge screw-up !

(Just download the newest Galaxy client from the link on the bottom right at the front-page , then install that.
That should fix the problem. at least it did so for me. I had *NOT* started messing with the installation myself and had not attempted any of the fix suggested as I did not want to risk screwing up anything. )

So we choose the "Download GOG Galaxy for Windows"? Won't that reinstall the whole program? I still have it installed, I just deleted the galaxy-2.0 file.
Well I had this issue earlier, didn't mess with any files manually, and I actually didn't have to manually download and install anything, when I got home today and booted up my PC it all works again by itself :)
I applied the hotfix (another update came up), but my games are still gone.

Is it because I removed the galaxy-2.0 file originally to fix it? Do I need to rescan each of my games still to bring them back even with the hotfix installed?
New 2.0.49 Hotfix update available. Do i dare to update? :D

Sorry to learn that you messed up , but original advice (from others than me) never were to delete file but to rename folder storage and then copy files back later , since you deleted files I have no idea how you fix it unless you can get files back from Windows delete bin recycle whatever .

Original advice that you appear to refer to (in another thread) I have found is here :

https://www.gog.com/forum/general/gog_galaxy_failed_to_load_game_database/post113
https://www.gog.com/forum/general/gog_galaxy_failed_to_load_game_database/post119

For scanning it says :
launch Galaxy, from there just click the cog icon at the top left and select "Add games & friends" and after that just click "Scan folder for GOG games"

Nut I am not sure if it can help you when you deleted files , someone else will have to advice you on that one !

For the record then :
They have fixed the problem !
Just download the newest Galaxy client from the link on the bottom right at the front-page , then install that.
