same problem here also, started with the latest beta update...

restart pc... gog galaxy checks for updates and fails, it has a link
to update manually ,
but when I click that it just takes me to a
gog galaxy 2.0 ver page... I'm nervous.about uninstalling gog galaxy
now and loosing my games or downloads and having to re-download
or have other issues..

I'm surprised someone from gog hasn't replied to this thread !

Same here. I wouldn't mind updating manually, but that seems to install the same version for whatever reason!?

Ditto here. Has happened before, about 1 year ago. I wish that GOG could figure out once and for all how to make this update process stable.

Update failed and after downloading the installer file from gogalaxy.com/en/download, windows malware defender wanted me to upload the file to them (Microsoft).

lopanhouki: I fixed it on mine by manually downloading the patch file. I got the link from one of the other threads on the front page. It won't let me create links so I will remove the https

cdn.gog.com/open/galaxy/client/2.0.58.4/setup_galaxy_2.0.58.4.exe

Had to exit GOG, install, then reboot the computer and so far no update errors. GOG would not launch until I rebooted. This was yesterday, so fingers crossed.
This helped me, no update popups since. But the client seems to take longer to start AND does not remember my login, even though i have "Keep me logged in" checked in settings. So...

Same here. Very annoying. The reason must be in the recent update. Too conspicuous.
