Since about a week ago whenever I start GOG galaxy on my Mac, it displays an error popup

GOG galaxy - Error
Connection to Communication Service was lost and could not be restored! GOG Galaxy will now shutdown.

All I can do is press OK, then the client will load and shut down.
The same error is present when I start offline (without active network connection).
I also deleted the folder under /Users/Shared/GOG.com and reinstalled, but the same error persists.

Please note, this an M1 Macbook Pro, on Ventura 13.4 - however, the client worked fine a few weeks ago.

I think this is the relevant log entry. I would attach more, but you only allow images.

I have the exact same issue on my new MacBook Air M2. Constant "GOG Galaxy - Error" and then shutting down just as you are.

Same probleme - Macbook Pro M2 on Ventura… :-(
This isn't just a macOS problem - i got it since months on Windows 10 too. Reinstalling GOG Galaxy didn't help.
Luckily i currently play 7 Days to Die which isn't on GOG anyways.
Here's what works for me on macOS:
1. make sure that any other system account is logged out
2. open a terminal and run /Users/Shared/GOG.com/Galaxy/redists/GalaxyCommunication
3. launch GOG Galaxy

GalaxyCommunication will immediately exit if any other account is still logged in. I assume it's a poorly thought-through attempt to prevent GOG account sharing.
same problem on iMac 2017 Mac OS Ventura
/Users/Shared/GOG.com/Galaxy/redists/GalaxyCommunication
terminal command solve problem for me

this solved it for me. Just followed all the steps, I closed gog, open the terminal, pasted the string, above, opened gog again, it worked! not sure if I have to do it every time, but so far it works!

This unfortunately did not work for me - I don't have any other users on this Mac but it is new and the user was copied over from my old Mac. Any ideas?

This workaround wokrs for me. However, the GalaxyCommunication program must remain running. And if the GOG Galaxy Client exits, the GalaxyCommunication will also exit a few minutes later. Actually, probably the program is supposed to run permanently as a demon in the background?

MacBook Pro M1, macOS Ventura 13.6.

Any other ideas?
