Bonjour et bienvenue sur GOG.com!

We're happy to announce that the site is now available in the native tongue of Molière, ‎Jean-Jacques Rousseau, Honoré de Balzac, Jules Verne, and René Goscinny! Here, at GOG.com we're always trying to make DRM-free entertainment more accesible to gamers around the world. For your convenience we'll be rolling out support for different language versions of our service, and we're starting with French - right now! On top of main page translation, french-speaking support representative is waiting to help you with your game-related problems and answer your questions.

All this is nice, of course, but we know what is the most important part for you: the games! We've already had about 240 titles playable in French in our DRM-free catalog. With today's launch we're rolling out another 30 French versions of titles such as Heroes of Might and Magic 3 Complete, Prince of Persia: Warrior Within, or Darkstone for a nice 270+ French-speaking games total. You can get some of them with a nice discount in our special promo, aptly named "Vive la France", that lasts until Tuesday, November 11, at 4:59AM GMT.

But that's not all. As french cuisine dictates, no meal is complete without something small and sweet for dessert! For the next 24 hours (that is until Saturday, November 8, at 7:59AM GMT), we're giving away a dear French-made classic, Little Big Adventure for FREE a game that's seeing its 20th anniversary! Remember to sign-up for your free copy and celebrate the event with us, and play one of the many memorable oldies coming from France.

Have a nice day, everyone!
Allez, allez, GOG !
WOW, thanks for Little Big Adventure, GOG! :D

Totally unnecesary IMHO .
I think this may fragmentate the community, I also think that the classic gamer use to have some basic english knowledge, mainly because most of the games available here are not translated. I would prefer to see more translated games rather than some translated unuseful stuff and also I would prefer to see a better customer service rather than multilingual customer service, Steam does have a horrible customer service but yay! it´s multilingual, I would like to deal with IT speacialized in each kind of game/issue (dos box, wine, linux....), on the contrary I would HATE to see a spanish speaking guy telling me always that I must run the game as administrator (I´m not even spanish speaking myself). I had some horrible experiences with some "spanish" spaking customer services.

Wonderful ! I'm happy !

Magnifique ! Je suis heureux !
Will there be a french speaking general discussion forum? Or the games related sub forums. Will they be in each language? Or maybe one could attach little nice flags to each thread indicating the spoken language in each thread.

Eh, okay. Good for french people I guess :)

Any way to hide "Discussions Générales" ?

That's my first thought as well, but I guess they know what they're doing. What I care about & appreciate is that the site didn't "recognize my language" and stayed in english.

Ahhh French, a language of ryhmic moaning in speech and random keysmashing in text, incapable of counting even to a hundred or use composita for words. And in celebration of this days "achievement", GOG surrenders a copy of LBA. fitting, very fitting.

For english-impaired french people you mean. Some of us did make the effort to learn additional languages.

If they wanted to french-ize the website, I'd have preferred them finally bringing Transarctica on board among others...

Hmmm... ok. I have the tiny hope that this will lead to more languages packs besides French to be added to games in the future :D So I'll be for this change ;-)

*hint for gog team* If you manage to get the german language packs for the runaway trilogie it will be instant buy :D

What GOG's doing now is how you go seriously global. The more languages with large customer bases they can appeal to, the larger the audience can get.
It looks like they're laying the groundwork for a German-based section as well for some time in the future, if their job listings are any indicator.
Sounds good to me. The more people who come here, feel welcome and end up with gargantuan piles of quality games, the better.
Merci, mais pas de traductions de merde gênantes ou ce sera anglais à 100%.
Good thing for gog!

But, 1, I'm not french although I speak French, so you could have put all the flags of the countries where French is spoken/official. I get the point but I'd appreciate it (and any non-French French speaker and, 2, I subscribed to the rss feed of the site and I get french feeds sometimes, so if you'd be so kind as to explain how to tweak all that. :)

Also, thanks for LBA, nice gift, always was curious of this. And I'd rahter have this one than one of the lousy recent "games" from Ubisoft. :P

Again, thanks and gratz GOG!

True, it's totally unnecessary and gog should forget about getting a non english audience...

Seriously have you reread yourself before posting this silly unnecessary post?
