This has to be the best week for all shooter fans. Yesterday we've added one of the best classic FPS, Duke Nukem 3D, and now we're launching the Unreal promotion. It's crazy!
Starting now till Monday, March 2 at 11:59 p.m. EDT, you can expand your collection of Good Old Games with two great shooters from Epic Games: [url=http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/unreal_gold]Unreal Gold and Unreal 2: The Awakening Special Edition in a bundle for only $16.98. To benefit from the promo you have to buy both games in one order or simply click here to add both games to your cart. All those of you who already have one of the games can grab the other one with a $1.50 discount. The promotion ends on Monday, March 2 at 11:59 p.m. EDT.
Damn you, GOG! Damn yooooooou!!! *throwing.fist.in.the.air*
I just have to buy and buy and buy and my 7 children have to starve. :-/
I was buying these games and then I realized that I already bought them a couple of months ago! :D
Unreal (+expansion) is already a classic, and Unreal 2 is a very underappreciated sequel with great, sympathetic characters (I don't know why some people complain about "being forced to talk to them") and good solid action.
Unreal 2 was terrible. =/
What's new in Unreal Gold? I own both Unreal and Unreal II so I think I need to pass on this, though :P

Has the mission pack, Return to Na-Pali, which is generally considered quite a bit weaker than Unreal alone.
I actually enjoyed it just as much, if not more, though. Better levels, much larger with more ways to reach your destination...IMO...

Better levels?I don`t think so.Unreal has really epic levels,Return to Na-Pali is weaker game IMO.

That's why I pointed out that the majority of players disliked the expansion.
Normally I would throw down my money in an instant but Duke comes first from this genre.
I already have both and don't really enjoy either that much. Also, I have two copies of duke nukem. this week has been almost the most depressing week from GOG for me. nothing that interests me has gone on sale or has been released.
oh wait, that's like every week.

What do you want on GOG then?

To be honest, I couldn't say exactly, maybe something a little more casual. I'm tired of seeing all these games that appear as if you have to be hardcore into that game to really enjoy it. I'm just waiting to see if something does interest me.

Flatout seems like a casual racing game to me, i was thinking of buying it because it seemed pure fun.
I've thought of both it and screamer, but ultimately I hate racing games. the only one I can stand is burnout paradise, but that's mostly because at any moment you can screw up your car, for fun.
I love racing games, but find that they are so infinitely better with a steering wheel that I don't want to play them without one, and I don't have one, and (sucking in a breath here) so there's no such thing as a casual racing game to me because you need to buy a decent wheel first -- and most stores don't even carry PC wheels anymore!
