I enjoyed this game a lot some years back. It's fairly easy to progress through the game, but not too easy. There's enough variety to keep things interesting most of the time. Some humor and twists as well. The graphics aren't bad and it should play well on almost any recent laptop or PC (I played on an Nvidia GeForce 7600 originally which was fine).... full review
It's mild fair by today's standards, but for $10 DRM free, it's a deal. I still have my original, boxed set or I'd buy it in a second. Might anyway, at some point, just to support GOG. I really like what they're doing here and wish them much success. And if you travel much, it's convenient to be able to download a game and install whenever you want. Play it for awhile and then uninstall. It will be there in your GOG acct. whenever you need it. (Of course, I keep copies stored safely away at home as well.)
If you never played the Unreal games and you like the "classic" style FPS games, this is well worth the price of admission. Heck, a movie cost $10 and you'll get a lot more entertainment out of this game than you will from most movies. Thumbs up!
U2 is a pretty good game. The single player is decent and fun. However, the barely popularized free add-on pack eXtended MultiPlayer or XMP is one of the best team-based multiplayer games out there, far better, in my opinion, than UT. XMP is one of the best LAN games you can get your hands on.
The story is very nice, but the speed of the game sucks. Luckily a set speed 3 command in console can remedy that. The game has little replay value, but thats with most story first person shooters. i'm glad to have it in collection and will definitely use it again eventually. ... full review
the graphics are fairly detailed, but the player models are ugly. aida has a huge set of breasts, long neck and oblong body. same goes with the rest of the cast -breast. but still not ugly enough to dislike the game.
the weapons are a little off. they aren't anywhere near as good as ut99 weapons, or even as good as ut2004 (which are worse than 99's), yet they are usable.
quick tip, if any of you want to use unreal editor, DO NOT use gog's default install path. unreal engine hates any path that has spaces in it. so instead of gog/u2 blah blah blah, use c:gamesunreal2 etc etc.
