This promo is running for one week, so you have some time. :)
Buy them, buy them all, now!
Well, that's nice...
I'm loving Etherlords 2.

Etherlords 2 and S2 are both games I had never heard about before GOG, and now that I know, I love them.

You're right... =) Thanks for pointing that out!
Should someone not big into TBS bother we these? What I mean is I don't like TBS but some games are sooooooo good they can crossover and hook someone who doesn't dig that genre (think AOE 2 for people who don't like RTS), do any of these apply?

EDIT: ALSO Do you have to be familiar/good with card games to be able to appreciate Etherlords?

Should I get both Etherlords or is the sequel superior? Is there a connecting plot between the two or is "the war for ether" just am general background for non-linear turn based fantasy play?

I almost picked up these during the Soviet promo but wasn't sure about the "fine tradition of fantasy trading card games;" how are cards used?

Thank you in advance for any responses.
Silent Storm looks interesting, like a turn-based Commandos. How is the difficulty?

Well... I don't have the 1st one (or I've played), but I don't think you're missing much of the backstory. And you have to choose between 2 factions at the start.. so..

What I do know is that they took off the management part on the maps (like HoMM) on the 2nd and focused more on the "adventure"... so you don't have to rush because the enemy is advancing towards you.

The cards are used for the battles, you cannot attack directly, so you have cards for summoning, buffers and for spells. And they varies depending on the faction you chose.

Graphically, I think they both are the same. So the main difference is on the map I guess, so you have to decide if you like the HoMM/AoW part or not..

Etherlords 2 is much better than the original. In the first game you have to defend your castle, gather resources and eventually destroy castles of your enemies. Yeah, I know - it actually sounds good but believe me - it was poorly implemented and it's more frustrating than entertaining. Fortunately nothing like that is present in E2, it's story driven.

As for the plot... you won't miss much. Actually I played E2 first and then (several years later) the first one and it didn't bother me at all. The central character in Etherlords 2 is Diamanda, you will be told what happened to her relatively quickly. And if you play Etherlords 1... well, you can do it to her by yourself ;)

If you can afford only one of them then DEFINITELY pick the second one. If you can get both do so. The first one is still very enjoyable and you will be able to appreciate the progress they made in the sequel ;)
Have all these, and enjoyed them all. Really can't go wrong at this promo deal price
Finally, I can have a working RU version of the SSG without the Starforce.
