Is your body ready to waste away in front of your computer?

Wasteland 2 Digital Deluxe Edition, inXile's epic post-apocalyptic RPG is here! The masterfully crafted continuation to the 1988s original post-apocalyptic RPG, is available for Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux on GOG.com, for $59.99*.

Wasteland 2 Digital Deluxe Edition, is the direct sequel to 1988’s Wasteland, the first-ever post-apocalyptic computer RPG and the inspiration behind the Fallout series. Until Wasteland, no other cRPG had ever allowed players to control and command individual party members for tactical purposes or given them the chance to make moral choices that would directly affect the world around them. Wasteland was a pioneer in multi-path problem solving, dripping in choice and consequence and eschewing the typical one-key-per-lock puzzle solving methods of its peers, in favor of putting the power into players’ hands to advance based on their own particular play style. Now, the legend is back, resurrected by the power of thousands of gamers' combined will to visit the grim and dangerous, yet strangely mesmerizing future once again. Today, we celebrate nonlinearity, mature storytelling, and other best traditions of computer RPG design. Brian Fargo and his inXile team opens the doors to the post-apocalyptic future: let's challenge its many dangers, together!

On GOG.com Wasteland 2 Digital Deluxe Edition comes complete with a free copy of Wasteland - The Original Classic and inXile's cult fantasy RPG, The Bard's Tale. *$59.99 is the regular price for this title in the US. Other prices will apply in different countries. If you end up paying more than than the US price, we will reimburse the difference from our own pocket, giving it back to you in store credit (this is what we call the "Fair Price Package"). If you only want to dip your feet before taking the plunge, there's a Wasteland 2 Digital Classic Edition available (US price: $39.99), and it can be upgraded to Deluxe Edition later.

What? I had my GOG key when I got off work going on five hours now. Or are you talking about non-backer keys? Off to play my first Wasteland 2 in a couple months

HypersomniacLive: Can't believe you noticed the price only today. =0
Hadn't really paid much attention since I don't generally bother with pre-orders. $72 is very steep, but it turns out that it's pretty expensive even without the regional pricing.

*Obsidian*, not inXile. As I understand it, Obsidian decided to offer Wasteland 2 keys as an additional tier to purchase for their Pillars of Eternity backers, post Kickstarter.

GordanShumway: IMO You don't get to charge full price AFTER crowd funding because your game should have already been paid for, you aren't taking any real risks with it in my estimation.

F4LL0UT: Well, I mean, okay, I have no idea how much the game really cost and how much of the raised money is left (if any) but still - it's an indie game that has been funded by parties that don't need to be paid back. It's absolutely insane to price it as high and even higher than many boxed AAA console games out there (which are already ridiculously overpriced).
How exactly is what I said any different than what you're saying? I honestly can't tell if you're agreeing or disagreeing. LOL

There shouldn't be any money left over. It should have paid for the game itself.
Is the game good, especially if there is exploration?

As yyahoo noted, this is in regard to backers of PoE that had Wasteland 2 included as a bonus in their pledge tier, not for WL2 backers.

Romiras: Hey guys,

I've got Wasteland 2 as a gift for Pillars of Eternity but so far they only allow me to generate Steam key and I want it on GOG. Obsidian said that they will make it available on GOG too, but no reaction yet

Any ideas on what should I do? Maybe someone at GOG can do something?

Thanks bro!
For those that may not be aware, there is a Wasteland 2 Classic Edition that costs less than the Digital Deluxe Edition.

So far, there does not appear to be day/night cycles. There is no food, but water is an important resource. You use up a unit of water every half inch or so you move on the world map, so you need to either find an oasis or refill at a town.

F1ach: Maybe its a regional thing but a normal PC game release price here is €45, I don't get the hate for this. I have only read 2 reviews, 8 and 8.5/10, which sounds like a darn good game to me. Haven't got it yet myself (not working), but I hope to get it next week and even I think its a fair price.
We are not only sharing the Avatar, but also the Opinion. I think 40€ is a very good price, for such a game. I remember times not so lang ago, where 50€ were considered normal...

Maybe people are just getting to used to all this totaly cheap sales...

I don't understand outrage about how high price is no matter a region. PC market works for everyone. Do you want to play it now? Pay full price that developers set. Don't you or can't you get under certain price level? Wait. Basically, if a person is willing to wait, it will eventually meet their $ requirements.
In the case of digital console stores, I would be more understanding as the price is usually same even 3 years after the release.

On the other hand, regional prices are screwing customers long-term.

Anyway, 2 hours in and so far I really like it. It has the quirkyness, great soundtrack and a lot of other things I like FO1/2 for.

Good taste always prevails :)

Heres a flavour of some assholes on Steam complaining about the price, the sense of "entitlement" is quite staggering :) :

Actually what I'm going to do so i dont have to wait for the torrent is to buy it on gog and finish the game within 30 days and then use the money back guarantee.

ok, so the money back guarantee doesnt work.. gotta wait a couple days for the T ;)

i was REALLY looking forward to get this game asap, but now after having seen the final price....seriously? milking the people 2 times feel greedy.
i mean i dunno bout those kickstarter thigy bur with all those stretch goals and whatnot developers seem to encourage the backers to give them more and more and i slightly doubt so much money is needed in all cases (if some rasie 2-4 Mios eg...thats huge).
now after the release its still 40 Euros?
come on. thats beyond reasonable. i cannot afford such and tbh i am getting kinda angry bout all those kickstarter games squeezing players wherever they can.

i refuse paying 40 Euros on smtg that was even crowd funded. it actually feels like a boot in the face tbh. first its all about the community and like we all stand together and help each other making a dream (Wasteland 2) come true, than after the duck has landed, the cat gets out of the bag and boom, joke is on us.
i know steam is doing its part as well, but getting milked like that feels awkard and its not what i expect from crowd funding.

I've read a few complaints elsewhere about frame rate issues and lags with parts of the UI. You run into anything yet technical wise?
