Is your body ready to waste away in front of your computer?

Wasteland 2 Digital Deluxe Edition, inXile's epic post-apocalyptic RPG is here! The masterfully crafted continuation to the 1988s original post-apocalyptic RPG, is available for Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux on GOG.com, for $59.99*.

Wasteland 2 Digital Deluxe Edition, is the direct sequel to 1988’s Wasteland, the first-ever post-apocalyptic computer RPG and the inspiration behind the Fallout series. Until Wasteland, no other cRPG had ever allowed players to control and command individual party members for tactical purposes or given them the chance to make moral choices that would directly affect the world around them. Wasteland was a pioneer in multi-path problem solving, dripping in choice and consequence and eschewing the typical one-key-per-lock puzzle solving methods of its peers, in favor of putting the power into players’ hands to advance based on their own particular play style. Now, the legend is back, resurrected by the power of thousands of gamers' combined will to visit the grim and dangerous, yet strangely mesmerizing future once again. Today, we celebrate nonlinearity, mature storytelling, and other best traditions of computer RPG design. Brian Fargo and his inXile team opens the doors to the post-apocalyptic future: let's challenge its many dangers, together!

On GOG.com Wasteland 2 Digital Deluxe Edition comes complete with a free copy of Wasteland - The Original Classic and inXile's cult fantasy RPG, The Bard's Tale. *$59.99 is the regular price for this title in the US. Other prices will apply in different countries. If you end up paying more than than the US price, we will reimburse the difference from our own pocket, giving it back to you in store credit (this is what we call the "Fair Price Package"). If you only want to dip your feet before taking the plunge, there's a Wasteland 2 Digital Classic Edition available (US price: $39.99), and it can be upgraded to Deluxe Edition later.

F4LL0UT: This is one ridiculous price. Especially considering that they did crowdfunding and early access. This actually offends me as a consumer.

Will maybe buy it in a year or two after the base price has dropped by at least half AND there's a massive promo going on, not matter how good it seems and how much I'd love to play it.
This surprised me too, I mean... I was expecting a price as Original Sin had.

Oh well, I will have to w8 too, maybe I will get one for Christmas. :)

Already Original Sin was far too expensive IMO but Wasteland 2 really gets the cake. Oh well, their loss (or gain, depending on how many people are actually willing to pay this much).
I backed Numenera on Kickstarter, $45 tier (TToN & Wasteland 2).

...and now I happily forked over 15 euro for the Deluxe Edition Upgrade. I can't wait for the Classic edition extras to be added (Novelas, OST and a lot of other stuff for 15 euro - not bad).

By doing it, I also give some extra support to GOG [ftw], and inXile - rewarding them for their product, giving money, some of which undoubtedly will contribute to the development of Numenera, or some other future project ;]

I just hope the game will be playable on this laptop (i7 1.6ghz, 6gb ram, 512mb graphics card).

The specs are odd, I know - it's my sisters old laptop, she bought a new one.

Gah I want this, I shouldn't spend the money but I really want it. Kind of bugs me that the Steam classic version includes Wasteland 1 while the GoG classic doesn't but don't wan to give Steam a sale on this and, frankly, probably wouldn't play Wasteland 1 when 2 is sitting there waiting :p.

Need to figure out if I can postpone some bills or something to get at least the classic version, otherwise I guess I will just have to wait (not like the price will go up at least :))

Glad there is a DRM free version :)

^ This was my feelings pretty much in a nutshell. That and you can bet there'll be copious amounts of DLC so no game is ever complete on launch anyway.

I mean, they even went back to selling the first Wasteland. I was playing a copy from Abandonia when I found out they started selling it again, ~10 minutes later I had purchased it on GOG. I figured it was to help fund Wasteland 2 so why not? Wasteland is a great game. But I'm firmly waiting for this to be sure.

IMO You don't get to charge full price AFTER crowd funding because your game should have already been paid for, you aren't taking any real risks with it in my estimation. Of course this is just my opinion I hope it's a good game and people enjoy it, etc. Just seems weird to me.

Wasteland 1 comes with the Standard (without the OST etc) as well - check your email, just type Wasteland (every Wasteland 2 copy comes with it, I got one as well with my Standard Wasteland 2, not Classic).

Check your backer portal, maybe you simply haven't noticed it ;]

edit:
I didnt notice you were talking about the Classic edition, not Standard ;]

However, it comes with the Classic GOG edition as well.

About:
In addition to the above goodies, the Digital Classic Edition includes:
GOG gift code for Wasteland 1

Hmm - I could have sworn when I first read that page it didn't have that as a bonus, I swear it said something about the soundtrack only... probably shouldn't trust my eyes when getting off an annoying work day eh?

Thanks for pointing it out to me :)
3GB down another 6.5 to go. I hate waiting.

Well, I mean, okay, I have no idea how much the game really cost and how much of the raised money is left (if any) but still - it's an indie game that has been funded by parties that don't need to be paid back. It's absolutely insane to price it as high and even higher than many boxed AAA console games out there (which are already ridiculously overpriced).

Maybe its a regional thing but a normal PC game release price here is €45, I don't get the hate for this. I have only read 2 reviews, 8 and 8.5/10, which sounds like a darn good game to me. Haven't got it yet myself (not working), but I hope to get it next week and even I think its a fair price.

Romiras: Hey guys,

I've got Wasteland 2 as a gift for Pillars of Eternity but so far they only allow me to generate Steam key and I want it on GOG. Obsidian said that they will make it available on GOG too, but no reaction yet

Any ideas on what should I do? Maybe someone at GOG can do something?
Looks like Obsidian is getting ready to distribute the GOG keys. Check the update Here for info.

Honest question - why should any of the raised money be left? It's supposed to be used to cover costs during development, not to be pocketed.

EDIT: typo

Because Wasteland 2 wasn't made by Tim Schafer.

AFAIK, they spent most of the money by expanding the scope of the game. Which meant more terrain that had to be created and more story elements as well.

If they had stuck to the original scope of the game, I'd be pissed, but I think that when people actually get to play and find out how large the game is that opinions will change.

Or, the game won't be as large as I think it is and I'll have to eat crow.

Ah, I was thinking about the box edition that had very nice price, box of Wasteland 2 cost 2x more. Now I see that on steam/gog there is not much difference between Original Sin and standard edtion of Wasteland (~3euro)...

My bad.
