Is your body ready to waste away in front of your computer?

Wasteland 2 Digital Deluxe Edition, inXile's epic post-apocalyptic RPG is here! The masterfully crafted continuation to the 1988s original post-apocalyptic RPG, is available for Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux on GOG.com, for $59.99*.

Wasteland 2 Digital Deluxe Edition, is the direct sequel to 1988’s Wasteland, the first-ever post-apocalyptic computer RPG and the inspiration behind the Fallout series. Until Wasteland, no other cRPG had ever allowed players to control and command individual party members for tactical purposes or given them the chance to make moral choices that would directly affect the world around them. Wasteland was a pioneer in multi-path problem solving, dripping in choice and consequence and eschewing the typical one-key-per-lock puzzle solving methods of its peers, in favor of putting the power into players’ hands to advance based on their own particular play style. Now, the legend is back, resurrected by the power of thousands of gamers' combined will to visit the grim and dangerous, yet strangely mesmerizing future once again. Today, we celebrate nonlinearity, mature storytelling, and other best traditions of computer RPG design. Brian Fargo and his inXile team opens the doors to the post-apocalyptic future: let's challenge its many dangers, together!

On GOG.com Wasteland 2 Digital Deluxe Edition comes complete with a free copy of Wasteland - The Original Classic and inXile's cult fantasy RPG, The Bard's Tale. *$59.99 is the regular price for this title in the US. Other prices will apply in different countries. If you end up paying more than than the US price, we will reimburse the difference from our own pocket, giving it back to you in store credit (this is what we call the "Fair Price Package"). If you only want to dip your feet before taking the plunge, there's a Wasteland 2 Digital Classic Edition available (US price: $39.99), and it can be upgraded to Deluxe Edition later.

yyahoo: Um, from what I just read above, they're asking customers to contact *them*, not inXile...
They are now, but earlier they were saying to contact inXile.

JudasIscariot: Again, we're just a distributor so it's not up to us. Please share your concern with inXile.
Does this confirm that GOG's policy is to retroactively delete purchased content at the request of the publisher? Granted it might be debatable if the FLAC files were purchased or free... that seems like a dangerous slippery slope and I would hope for more integrity from GOG, which is something they've seemed to show in the past.

I understand the actual issue may be there was never a legal right to offer those to begin with; but GOG here is saying they just delete whatever the publisher says too regardless of justification and I want to believe that's not true.

Well, to be fair, he did call it a mantra, and a mantra by definition wouldn't change. :)

You may want to go further up and read, starting here. ;-)

inXile will bring FLAC back:
After further discussing this internally and with Mark Morgan, we've all agreed to bring back the FLAC OST for GOG.com users.

Good news indeed! Not like some other Good news! I recall from earlier this year! ;-P

Since I'm not an ill-mannered dog (at least not much), I'm going to go and thank them (for coming to their senses). ;-)

I know I often give you a hard time, but I only do so because I love GOG and want it to be exemplary so I can always be proud about you and nag everyone I know to join! I mean it. :-D

Cheers for bringing the good news!

Technically, shmerl got here before I did but thanks all the same :)
Good to hear. Looks like Mark chimed in as well. Glad to see the issue will be resolved, thought it really shouldn't have happened to begin with. Like I said earlier, it seems like this would have easily been avoided if someone from inXile had just been upfront with backers and customers about the mistake and sent an e-mail to Mark explaining the situation looking for a way to resolve it, instead of doing their best imitation of a covert black ops extraction or some such.
Good move, inXile, I didn't expect worse from you :). Reputation restored.

A slippery slope argument would imply that this was the first that this has occurred. Unfortunately, this is far from the first time.

Cheers shmerl for being the carrier of such Good News! :-D

If anyone wants to thank shmerl, they can join me in doing so here ;)

Also I'm glad that this issue got resolved, although I don't think inXile should have done this removal in the first place.

Edit: Nevermind. I'm in a bad mood and don't want to blow it out of proportion.

Thanks, glad to lighten the atmosphere in this thread a bit :) And it's good that inXile managed to resolve it properly.
