Join the bracers, save the world!

The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky, a traditional jRPG masterpiece with 50+ hours of breathtaking storytelling is available 15% off on GOG.com. That's $16.99 for the first week!

The Orbal Revolution changed the Kingdom of Liberl. Innovations created with the use of the mystical "orbal energy" advanced the civilization by centuries in just 50 years. Now gleaming airships take to the skies, the night is lit with orbal-powered lanterns, and communication is easier than ever with telephones. However, breakneck pace of change brings many risks. With the emergence of high-powered guns and potent magic the kingdom has become a powder keg. This is where the Bracer Guild steps in, an efficient and esteemed force acting as police and negotiators. And here is where your story begins…

The first proper JRPG in GOG.com's catalog is a true gem, a title acclaimed for its novel-like multi-faceted characters, drama-packed story, and detailed lore. Follow Estelle and Joshua, children of the greatest hero of a bygone era, on a quest to find their father and uncover a plot threatening to destabilize an already volatile world. The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky is a rare game that creates a vast fantasy world and populates it with monsters and men you will care about. The game adds an original twist to the turn-based combat system, features highly customisable gear, and tops it all off with surprising accessibility even for genre-newbies.

Discover the secrets and dangers of Zemuria with your band of vagabonds in The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky 15% off for the first week. That's $16.99 until Tuesday, August 5, at 3:59PM GMT.

Crosmando: So on a scale of 1 to 10 how grindy is this game
Not very much. If you are underleveled you will get massive amounts of experience. If you are overleveled you will get almost nothing. You can grind for the stuff you need to buy the things you need for skills(It's a long time ago, I forgot what those are called), but it is purely optional.

So you can grind, and it can be effective to make encounters easier(until you barely get experience), but you can also beat up some stronger monsters later on, and level much faster than if you were grinding before.

So basically, it depends on how comfortable you are with encounters that are a bit more difficult. There are also no random encounters, and relatively early you will find something you can equip that will make it harder for monsters to notice you I believe. At the end of the game you can also find something to equip that will make it impossible for monsters to start a fight with you.

So in general, I will give it a 3 with 1 being the least grindy.
Such good news.. Also, the second chapter is announced on their FB, for PSP and probably Vita, as well as PC, on Steam at least. But it was announced translated and ready by last end of 2013, so with this first release and some months for its sales results, I wouldn't ecpect the second before the end of this year 2014..

I have the first for my PSP in UMD since.. Too long, yet to get to play it uhh.. I'll buy the second from the PSN probably.

Pass on GOG releases, I usually buy from Steam deals, unless here the OST is included and a cut below 10€.. Not rich here to buy several times the same game in different systems, let alone different shops. I wish!

triock: Hoping to see here 2nd chapter and Corpse party too.
And please, I want Japanese dub, not this "inferior" Eng dub. :p

JudasIscariot: You might as well import the Japanese version as the Japanese voice overs are for Japan only. Sorry to be blunt like this but I just read a thread where people were expressing their distaste at the lack of the Japanese voices.
Where is this thread so I might express my distaste as well?

It was on the Steam forums, if you want to know :) Can't miss it :)

And distaste expressed, thanks.
Everything I've read about this tells me I won't like it, so I'll pass. I'm glad it's here regardless, though.
How come the game page won't appear for me. Don't tell me this is a regional exclusive?

The OST is technically included for free since all the tracks (in OGG) are available in the game file (unprotected and all). Falcom always did that with their PC releases and XSeed didn't plan to change the tradition on their current Steam releases. Falcom are always the coolest when it comes to their music.
Still 404? O_o
All right...
Is it just my bad luck or you guys press the wrong button somewhere? First: I see absolutely nothing about this release on GOG main page and Second: after clicking on the link to the game info/ leaflet in Editors post in this thread I'm greeted by Sad Bear telling me '404 - Page not found' (pic attached).

Release thread was written in advance, and once a gogger posts in it, it appears in the forum. The release thread would have gone live once the game was released, which is still a few hours away.
I have no money and I must buy :(

And after this, you guys at GOG shall acquire the rights to the Y"s games for us.. pretty please? ;)
Things like this always makes me wonder why GOG doesn't use their coming soon tab to at least have a page where you can see the info of the game and be made aware that it is releasing at the same time as steam. When they don't let people know a game is coming, that could easily be a lost sale to the competition. Seems bad for business.
