justanoldgamer: Yes it is.
I'm getting it, there is not much games set in this part of the world at that time in history. In fact I don't know any game set in Quebec at any time in history.
Thanks, the game does a great job promoting the specific sound.
I've now listened to the soundtrack twice already - it's absolutely beautiful and if the trailer is any indication, I can see how it enhances both the setting and the gameplay.
Yes, awesome! I was really hoping this game would go to GOG rather than Steam only.
What a surprise! It's a pity the soundtrack isn't in the extras.

Erich_Zann: This reminds me of The Horde. The Horde was fun. Is this like The Horde ?
A propos The Horde, who owns Crystal Dynamics these days ?
Oh yeah,...I remember "The Horde"...that was really a funny game.

tinyE: True. To bad you're hockey teams suck. :P *ducks*

I'm joking! Well kind of. I live across the lake from Thunder Bay and I adore Canada, however you're hockey teams do suck.

Magnitus: Only because they changed the rules to allow player migration.

Back in the day when players had to play local, we owned your asses every single time (really, it was getting a bit embarrassing), but then, you are like ~350 millions and we are ~35 millions and they wanted to capitalize on the bigger market, so they rigged the rules to give the Yanks more of a competitive edge.

Never forget that Canadian and Easter European talent powers your teams.

In the Olympics where players do have to play local, we own you more often than not though you did offer a worthy resistance the last time so I'll give you props for that.
Oof, they didn't allow player migration to rig the system for the Americans, they allowed it because professional athletes aren't chattel and have the same right to determine their own employer as any other free citizen (except for the limitations on those rights, like the draft, that they collectively bargain away).

Sure, the players love it, but you gotta admit it didn't hurt the owners's wallets that U.S teams suddenly started doing well... I still say passing the puck (down south) was good for the buck and that is why they did it ultimately.

As for the rights of the players, I still say they allowed too much mobility. City leagues become a bit meaningless when the whole roster aren't remotely local. At the very least, force the nationals to play within their country.

Kinda hard to be proud about the home team when the entire player roster aren't home boys and are playing 100% for the money.

The trailer makes it seem like the game is a cross between pure survival and tower defense. The character animations in cutscenes look kind of bad, but I can get over that. I'll wait for a few reviews before I purchase this.
Cool title, drm-free and 50% off promo?
Damn this is like the nectar of the gods
Just 37 posts ? Come on guys, don't let this title go, it's amazing.
This ran like ass on my mid-end PC and it it's not a looker to begin with. Add bad gameplay mechanics (the rifle in particular) to low/unstable fps and you have yourself a recipe for frustration.

Your Mileage may vary, of course. You may need to tweak your graphical settings or something else.
It ran perfectly on my 5 year old machine (3 year old graph card) with no fps problems (stayed above 60). Bad mechanics? Not really. More like very different mechanics. Yes, it is an adjustment to reload a weapon, with a more historically accurate loading time, instead of spraying bullets. I was taken aback by the fact most traps have to be manually triggered. But once I realized that this was not a Tower Defense game, more like a third person action + Strategy. I came to love the original game mechanics of SangFoid as well as the story, art and music.

The game is not for everyone. But I thoroughly enjoyed it. Great to see it on GOG.

Performance wasn't bad from the start, but once large numbers of enemies started appearing, the fps were too unstable to reliably use the rifle. My PC can run better looking games than this smoother (e.g. Far Cry 3 on high).

Lack of bullet spraying and long reload aren't my issues although "click for faster reload" wasn't great. My problem was that I had to hold right click to aim or reload and the clunky aiming. Another little thing, a rifle with a scope should have more zoom than one without. Melee was unsatisfactory, but the traps were good.

The story (what I've seen of it) was decent but with bad animation. I'll give you one thing, the music was indeed great and, after looking through some of the game assets, the voice acting seems better in French.
