True. To bad you're hockey teams suck. :P *ducks*

I'm joking! Well kind of. I live across the lake from Thunder Bay and I adore Canada, however you're hockey teams do suck.
Been aware of this game for a while and quite interested in it. Love the concept and setting, and this is a great introductory price. I'll be picking this up now.

Just watched it, looks hard but interesting
NOOOOOOO ! I promised my mom I wouldn't spend any more money for a few weeks, and you put this ? :( This is one of my most anticipated games...
Aww, another one I picked up on steam as I didn't think it would make it's way here. May have to get a DRM free copy here at some point but certainly can't justify getting it today.
That is a well put together video. Reminds me of Dungeon Defenders. Pity it doesn't have multiplayer.:/
Do I understand correctly Sang-Froid is an atmospheric open world survival game? Is it sort of an action roguelike emphasizing survival trials and replay; or is there more of a linear plot progression (like an adventure game)? It looks like Orcs Must Die with Werewolves (?).
Quite an interesting setting and story. Even more interesting is the music choice - is this a traditional French-Canadian sound?

Too bad the soundtrack is not included (though it's supposed to be accessible in a media folder from within the game) and unfortunately it's not available anywhere online :(
But you can listen to it here.
I would really like a demo of this game; according to the system requirements it might work, or it might not, they are too vague, and the best way for me to judge would be to just let me try it out. Why are developers so averse to putting out demos? I don't want to waste money on a game that might or might not run.

Only because they changed the rules to allow player migration.

Back in the day when players had to play local, we owned your asses every single time (really, it was getting a bit embarrassing), but then, you are like ~350 millions and we are ~35 millions and they wanted to capitalize on the bigger market, so they rigged the rules to give the Yanks more of a competitive edge.

Never forget that Canadian and Easter European talent powers your teams.

In the Olympics where players do have to play local, we own you more often than not though you did offer a worthy resistance the last time so I'll give you props for that.

I have two NHL teams I root for, and their head coaches are the head coach and assistant head coach for team Canada so I'm good. :D

Yes it is.
I'm getting it, there is not much games set in this part of the world at that time in history. In fact I don't know any game set in Quebec at any time in history.

justanoldgamer: In fact I don't know any game set in Quebec at any time in history.
Not that era, but there were few games set mainly or partially in Canada (and in Quebec):
-"Birth of America 1 & 2", the wargame series which have a campaign and few scenarios dedicated to the French Indian War (the other campaigns and scenarios are during the American Revolutionary War)
-"Fields of Fire - Mohawk", a tactical RPG set in the French Indian War

But I don't know any game set in the XIX century Canada or Quebec (other than Sang-Froid now).

But... There are still historical grand strategy sandbox games (like Pride of Nations or the Victoria series) ;)
Lumberjack action survival horror? Not many games featuring lumberjacks are there?

Oddly enough they pop up in horror films every once in a while. For some strange reason I think the idea of it in a game is way cool so kudos to these developers.
