The Grand Finale of the unforgettable Myst adventure.

Myst V: End of Ages, a triumphant ending to the most popular adventure series in history, is available now on GOG.com for only $9.99.

Myst V is the fifth and final installment in the Myst series. Once again, the player will explore amazing worlds, solve brain-twisting Cyan-made puzzles, and discover the last story of Myst universe. The game uses real-time 3D which gives the player control to freely move around all of the beautiful Ages, but there's also a “Classic” mode which uses the same controls used in Myst and Riven and finally a “Classic Plus” mode which is somewhere in between the two. 3D-modeled characters (created using motion-capture of live actors) look and feel lifelike; the backgrounds, as with all Myst games, carry a sense of greatness and magnificence; and original orchestrated score helps the game reach a peak of perfection in emotional adventure gaming.

This is a great return for Rand Miller and Cyan Worlds to a familiar territory, but still a sad one, since every puzzle solved brings you one step closer to completion. The final part of the series has the story and puzzles to keep you absorbed until you make the final choice that will decide your fate and the fate of many others. Myst V is a worthy successor and one of the rare games thats imagination and beauty will be never lost in time, a fitting end to one of the best-selling computer series of all time.

Decide the fate of a civilization in Myst V: End of Ages, an epic adventure for only $9.99 on GOG.com.
I am SO going to play the entire series with a walkthrough in my hand one day... :D
Two really good releases today. Thank you, GOG :)
Can anyone here confirm if this version has native 16:9 resolution support (1920x1080), I think I remember reading somewhere that it only has 16:10 support
Nice :) Soundtrack too, that's a neat bonus.

Seen the reviews, and I have to say that while some complaints are valid (e.g. graphics), the story does make sense. In Uru people were trying to restore the D'ni civilisation, then Bahro appeared, which posses the power to change time and space and link at will. In Uru (some spoilers follow), the main journey is about freeing them from their slavery of thousands of years to the D'ni. In the meantime Yeesha learned about the tablet and about the huge power it holds. Did the same journey you're doing in Myst V, but failed. Now it's your turn. Do you trust Yeesha or Esher? Simple enough.
Myst 3 was too easy. Myst 4 felt too cumbersome.

Myst 5 was a wonderful experience. I like this release!
Any reason to look into this if I didn't like the first Myst?
Great news, but PLEASE also release 3 and 4! Q.Q

If your main complains about Myst 1 was that the world felt barren/dead due to the slideshow movement, or you just disliked the movement in general, and found it confusing, then yes. Myst 5 feels far more "alive", and you have free movement (if you want to, you can also turn on node-based movement).
If you disliked the puzzles, then Myst V won't win you over.

Hmmmm....I might try this during a sale then.

not really... apart from MUCH better graphics (also you can walk where you like, not just skip from one place to another)

Roman5: Great new release and all but...

What exactly is going to happen with 3 and 4? GOG is jumping right from the second game to the 5th?
Ubisoft owns 3 and 4, while Cyan owns the brand and all other games.

keeveek: I want Myst III and IV, GOG :<
They're Ubisoft games and have little to do with Cyan (apart from the Myst IP). Also, Myst V is more of a sequel to URU.

As far as the series goes, there were the original two games which were one story, the 'gaiden' stories (3 and 4) and then the URU story (URU+expansions and then Myst V).

AFnord: That is not quite right. The correct chronological order is:
Myst, Riven, Myst 3 Exile, Myst 4 Revelations, URU: ages beyond myst, Myst 5. You could skip right from Riven to 5, and not miss out on a whole lot of the backstory for Myst 5, as 3 & 4 tell different stories, but going from Myst 5 to 4 might partially spoil the story for 4. There is one very important character in Myst 3 & 4 that also has a central role in Myst 5, that don't get introduced until 3.
I dunno, I agree that you could skip 3+4, but I'd say you still need URU to give 5 proper context.

And GOG has deals with Ubisoft, hasn't it?

Yeah, my point is that they'd be part of a separate deal. If GOG haven't got 3+4, it's because of Ubisoft (or perhaps because Cyan and Ubi need to agree on something).
About time this showed up on GOG!
I'll be buying this as soon as I get the chance.
