Los Luchadores Locos!

Guacamelee! Gold Edition, a modern metroidvania style action-platformer-brawler inspired by Mexican Luchadores, with fast-paced action, incredible combat moves and combos, brilliant humor, and stylish colorful graphics, is available 10% off on GOG.com. That's only $13.49 for the first week. But there's more! In the first week, a free copy of Tales From Space: Mutant Blobs Attack comes with every Guacamelee! Gold Edition purchase.

Juan Aquacate was just a simple agave farmer until destiny reached out, grabbed him, and sent him on a heroic quest through the world of the living and the realm of the dead. Magical Luchadore power was bestowed upon him, so he could face all the unimaginable dangers, strange beasts, and bloodthirsty freaks he would meet on his path. Face them, and beat the livin hell out of them, that is. In the magical, colorful world of Mexican legends where humans, demons, and the dead meet in hand-to-hand combat, Juans story unfolds before your eyes.

Guacamelee! Gold Edition combines the time-proven exploration platformer gameplay with sleek melee combat mechanics inspired by the Mexican Luchadore wrestling, with a whole lot of extra magic and badassery added. The game's aesthetics is firmly rooted in the Mexican folklore, but takes all its special flavor one step further to create a colorful, memorable, and vivid gameworld. The combat system is surprisingly deep, allowing for incredible combos and creating a whole extra level of challenge. On top of that, you'll need to learn how to exploit your hero's ability to shift between the worlds of living and the dead, to pass obstacles on your way. With great gameplay depth, beautiful design, and optional cooperative mode, this fantastic brawler/slash platformer will blast you off your feet like a glass of tequila on a sunny day!

Prepare for some hot & spicy Mexican badassery as you explore the crazy incredible world of Luchadores in Guacamelee! Gold Edition, for only $13.49 on GOG.com. The 10% launch discount offer and the free Tales From Space: Mutant Blobs Attack offer last until Thursday, September 5, at 9:59AM GMT. Don't miss out!

If anyone is on the fence about this game, BUY IT. NOW. It's awesome.

I only wish that I'd known a couple of weeks ago that it'll be out on GOG. Just got it from Steam on release week. :(

deathwings51: Awwww :(

Can you please mention that on the store page ? Local co-op doesn't sound as much promising (to me) because I do co-op with remote friends.
avatar
JudasIscariot: It's in the description :)
Is it ? *facedesk*

Sorry for not paying attention. Oh well. I will still buy it later when I am done with the present lot.

JudasIscariot: Como se dice "fixed" en Espanol? :P
I won't tell you until it's actually fixed, señor >:D
It would be "corregido" for this context, but I just saw two "Luchadore" more in the text ;)
I can call it "Day of Great Releases" !
I am glad I did not pre-ordered Chaos Engine and somehow missed Guacamelee on Steam.
But I will appreciate to see such incoming releases announced also here in news (or embedded tweets) on GOG mainpage, so I do not need to dig it out from the depths of teh internets...
Nice release and with lots of extras and multi-languages. Good job.

It would have been better to advertise this release for people who bought it on Steam but like their games DRM-free.

GOG please check download link: https://secure.gog.com/downlink/guacamelee_gold_edition/en1installer1 does not work for me :(

edit: find out that this link works: https://secure.gog.com/downlink/guacamelee/en1installer1 (without "_gold_edition" part)

"Your bank has declined your payment attempt"

Well, isn't that lovely.

There is some still unresolved (but known) issue with Visa Electron cards... You will probably have to wait or to use another card...

Try it again please. Try a different browser as well, I just tried that link with both Firefox and Chrome and it worked for me.

I just edited my post, because I found where the problem is - and it is not in browser :D

FYI I tried it in both Chrome and Firefox - and always have to remove that _gold_edition part of directory from link to download it...

Hey, guys, although this obviously won't have Steam-exclusive features, I was wondering if it'd have this that I read on the developer's website for the Steam release:

“El Infierno” level expansion. Brave the fires of El Infierno and prove yourself in a series of challenges to unlock powerful new costumes for Juan and Tostada

haydenaurion: Now this is the sort of indie I can get behind, of course it helps that i'm a sucker for the "Metroidvania" style games. That along with the extra free game offer make this a no brainer purchase for me.

JudasIscariot: Oh and just because it's free doesn't actually denote the quality of the game. Mutant Blobs Attack is rather popular here in the office! :D
This office?

seriously I HAVE to have this game. I would assume being an indy it's not going to be a problem on my fossil computer. Think I'll wait till the end of the week to see if I can win it first, and if it matters, the free game is actually the tipping point. Without that I'd just wish list it until Christmas but that blob thing looks way cool. :D

I just finished this game on PS3, and I can't recommend it more strongly. If you like Metroid style games, this is definitely one of the best ones out there.
Damn, I was too quick with buying the STEAM version again. Excellent game though, will probably buy a GoG copy too later on.

It's a really good game but i would seriously recommend having an Xbox 360 controller for it as for this kind of game it's a lot smoother :D
