A game where you punch stuff with your fists!

Fist Puncher, an insane comedic brawler with pixelated graphics, cow throwing, and bucket-loads of weird humor, is available 60% off on GOG.com. That's only $3.99 for the next 48 hours!

Fist Puncher is one of those games so full of explosive insanity, that it's not easy to describe to the general public. Let's try either way. There is this team of violent vigilantes, led by the neurosurgeon / martial arts master / philanthropist / macho / rockstar / crime fighter, Doctor Karate. With the help of a disgracefully doping ex-athlete Steroid Jackson, the masked Beekeeper, and deadly derby girl Hella Fistgerald, as well as a whole cast of other deranged keepers of justice, he takes on a evil syndicate led by the kingpin of crime known as The Milkman. The crew blasts through the city of Las Cruces, turning chaos and mayhem into more chaos and mayhem, in the good old tradition of bombing stuff for the sake of peace and justice. In the process, they will throw cows at goons, participate in ostrich races, and crush Nazi birthday parties. OK, how's that for a description? Nope, still doesn't do the game justice. There you go: see the madness with your own eyes!

Looks a bit awful.
Damn. From the game's banner I expected Shank level of graphics. Then I saw the screenshots. Oh well, I'll be keeping an eye out for this one.
Looks cool! Who could resist "an insane comedic brawler with pixelated graphics, cow throwing, and bucket-loads of weird humor"! :) Wishlisted.

Yeah, the promotional art does look a lot like Shank, I found that misleading too.
WAT.
The first instant I saw the banner I thought this might be like Shank :( Fist Puncher is the prime example how simply making the graphics low-res doesn't make them automatically "retro" or "nostalgic". This looks just hideous. Also, it doesn't play anything like old-school brawlers either, this is just a modern game with awful graphics.

It's actually a very solid brawler :)

I beat the entire game and man,I had fun the whole time. I loved the fighting sound effects the smooth controls, and the back crack move :D
From what I have seen/heard of this game, it is not exactly up to GOGs quality standards.

In what way, if I may ask?

Poor graphics (and yeah I'm all for retro-style, but here the art is really not that good) plus extremely mediocre brawling with little variety. I'm not saying I'm 100% right as I have not played the game myself, but that is the impression I got when watching youtube videos with the game. I personally am not interested in this title after that, but again tastes differ and lots of people might be happy to see this game on GOG and play it.
Game sounded familiar, and once I looked at the screenshots I was certain I'd seen the Giant Bomb crew play it on their weekly show at one time.

I remember being pretty interested in it. Could anybody who has played it tell me how long it is? Any tedious difficulty spikes?

Ouch, the game is definitely not Final Fight. There is no weight. I am half expecting the main character to activate turbines and fly to the moon. Doesn't help that he/she/it/whatever looks like an astronaut.

I played the entire game in single player and there were some MINOR difficulty spikes, there wasn't anything that made me throw my controller into orbit :)

If you ever have any difficulty, try unlocking a character called De Capitan. His special move is quite effective for crowd control :)
Bought. For that discounted price, even if it is a mediocre Double Dragon clone, possibly worth it. I'm sure I've bought far worse games in e.g. Humble Indie Bundles.
