I´m ashamed to admit i pre-ordered this one on another platform a long time ago.
And yepp, after five mins you´re just looking for the Quit-Button.
And believe me, i wanted to like this game, after all i paid money for it.
But soon i felt the coldness of charme-lacking boringness. And a retro-look retro just to look retro?
I dont want to bash it, but there is nothingread more in this game which was of any interest or kept me playing. Such a lack of everything that i really dont know what it is exactly that shivers me timbers about that game.
I thought the crazy story and characters would be worth it, but i got teached better.
It´s just no fun at all.
Charmeless and boring are the two words that ring my synapses when i hear the name of this one.

When you look at this game graphics you might get disappointed, and I can't blame you for that. We are talking about almost 8-bit here, but that's ok. This game have a strong style and it implements great mechanics that will surely make you smile from time to time. First, every character is visually and mechanically different from each other, so, your character will really impactread more in the way you play the game. Second, you have a level system that grants you many ways to change your character. Want she/he to be harder? Faster? Stronger? It's up to you. And you can revisit levels in order to see new places and battle new enemies. The humor is pretty good, and will be present even when you are defeated. And I can't forget the soundtrack, since it's pretty great! If you enjoyed games like River City Ransom, Scott Pilgrim vs The World, Double Dragon NEON, or Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds You will be good. But, as I said before, the graphics might be a challenging barrier for new players.

Great beat-em'-up, but even better with a buddy. I took off one star because I thought the game could have used more moves and a greater inducement to use the large array of other characters. You have to level them up individually to get strong, so it doesn't really behoove you to deviate from your original choice.
Cool retro graphics and gameplay though, and great price. Worth a buy for sure.
