Yea, finally something for us incredibly rich Europeans!
Meh, by far the worst AC game.
AC2 is a million times better.
I´ve completely forgot about the conference and when I returned here form mass, I couldn´t believe my eyes OoO.... Ubisoft game DRM free (will buy it just to show them THIS is the way to go - bravo, Ubisoft)? Fallout for free? Unbelievable...

Christ must´ve really rose from dead :DDD

I already have the game from eslewhere, but I haven't played it because...well, it's not unusual for me to buy games and play them years down the line.

Right now I can't buy a game anyway, but in few days, if the offer is still one, I am going to consider it, mostly to send a message that DRM free is a good move for business. Especially if rumours about online activations are accurate for the next generation of consoles, which will mean for me that I will only buy GOG releases or other DRM free PC games only.
As much as people say the sequels are better and call this game repettive I actually enjoyed it more than 2 or Brotherhood. It's more simple, but also more to the point. The sequels have more to do but they're more scattered, a lot of that extra stuff isn't fun.

Anyway, this is a great game with a unique setting that I really love. $20 is too much though, it was DRM free on amazon for $2.50 a couple weeks ago.

The price on steam is 19.99$ so it seems normal.... It just shows that GOG don't make the prices.

Zeewolf: Too expensive. It's £5 on Amazon.
No one forcing you buy from here. You know, you can get under £5 even $0.00 if you want.

Even if it did, it doesn't have the goodies GOG is giving (which are actually sold elsewhere, like the soundtrack).

Agreed. And it's the only game of the series worth of the title it has.

Which is totally useless since it will most likely be a lossly compressed crap. Oh, and not to mention that I don't care about videos, screenshots, wallpapers, guides, manuals, music, and pretty much everything else that doesn't result in more in-game stuff (gameplay, missions, quests, whatever).

Hypothetically, if I buy the game, it will be removed permanently and totally forgotten once I'm done with the story and the challenges / stuff you can do in-game.

So yea, the version on Steam is far more worth in my case.
About a year and a half or so ago I was turning the bargain software tile around in my hand at a retail store. The price was 10$. It was, at that time and even more so now, an older game that is now packaged as an value title. I passed on the game when I read about how it contain technology that may be incompatible with some disc drives. I had had that issue with my drive and decided I would wait. POP sands was DRM free why not the first AC?

I kept waiting until I got it DRM-free during Amazon's drm "test" recently. It was good odds that it would turn up here soon, but the cost was BOGO for $5. That was a sale but at 20$ this is a real problem for something considered a legacy or value title. 10$ is the going rate for many other ways to acquire the title. The only real saving grace is the inclusion of the sound track which one can pay 10$ on its own(I've even paid for AC2's OST)

I am all for GOG selling new games, and I understand there may be a buying power issue vs say Amazon, but charging double the price (and often more) compared to many other shops is a hard swallow once you clear the 5$ mark. I might pay 5$ for the privilege of owning something DRM free but after 10$ I have to start worrying about if that drm-free safety net is really worth the price. Hate to say it but damn hard sell.

That's still far too high for a rental price. :)
I bought this version for $5 during the Amazon sales.....
