lukaszthegreat: you guys can't be serious...
I mean... it is a dlc. there is no way to avoid it unless you don't buy the game yourself, don't use the internet (which you do so it is your fault) and don't read the box, don't read ANYTHING!
We managed to avoid that spoiler until coming here. Is it wrong to be annoyed?

It was just announced today. While I agree that it would be nice to indicate there may be spoilers in a thread, I also agree that there's no way you'd avoid finding out this bit of spoilery information before the game launches.
A Prothean with a Nigerian accent ? Fuck, i'm almost tempted to get it now, the creativity juices must have been flowing strong that day.

What, he kept a low profile in Nigeria for 50k years, is that how he picked up the accent ? :p

You got a problem with that?

jdyer1012: Amazing, EA, I expected as much from the likes of you. You take a lore critical character, and shove him out as some crappy Day-One DLC. I can't believe Bioware, one of the greatest RPG developers of all time sucked up to you and your stupid Origin client.

I'm not going to resort to pirating, because when the game is butchered into pieces that they sell to rake in the extra cash the game is not even worth pirating. EA ruined another series, add it to the graveyard along with Command & Conquer and Ultima.
I'm really not sure if the raping of the game is down to EA. BioWare have changed a lot over the years, and isn't nearly the company they once were. We won't see any truly good games come out of that place any more.

DLC is an experiment that needs to die. Overpriced PoS, and the day 1 dlc is just laughing in our faces.

Someone mentioned that on RPS...

It is not EA fault. It is bioware. they are assholes.

Bioware is not westwood. Their people sit on the board of EA, they can do whatever they want really.
Whatever you think about their games, their actions... EA is responsible for distribution of the game. So if a game is not in your country/local shop then it is fault of EA.
Whether DLC is free or not...
Bioware.

DLC saves jobs, no seriously when a game is closed for features before DLC the content team were generally laid off (expansion packs not being planned until sales figures were known) with DLC they are used to produce said DLC for 3 months before the game goes on sale (this is how we get day 1 DLC)

Problem ? Hell no Fenix, i'm all for free bona fide unadulterated comedy and that's exactly what each new Bioware release delivers ever since they've become EA ;)

Well played, Namur. Well played.
Another SPOILER:

Frankly, I think the stink ME3 has generated is still waaaaay overblown (like almost everything is on the internet these days), and it certainly won't make me cancel my fully paid pre-order. If these speech banks truly belong to the Prothean, I don't even want him. That Jamaican accent totally does not jive with my image of aliens in any shape or form.

In fact, I doubt that character will be that plot-critical as he seems to have been worked on only after they wrapped up the main game for bug fixes/polishing. So far I've yet to spend much money on DLC in games other than new pinball tables. These add-ons usually just don't add up to much. I certainly never felt like I've lost out on content when I chose to forgo on them. See the ludicrous 'The Arrival' DLC for ME2... telling us about something we already knew was inevitable, just with a minor twist.

You can avoid this spoiler, because you can get this DLC only two ways:
1) By buying it and then you will see what kind of content is inside. It was released on X-box live to early and there was big banner with Prothean and bold text in description "Prothean Teammate". So there is no way to buy it without not being spoiled.
2) By entering DLC code that will be included with CE. It will be as always on piece of paper with short description and images.

Also as you need Origin to play it you may be sure that you will see big banners about this DLC there. Similar to those that was on X-Box live.

I'm pretty damn sure that EA/Bioware won't let anyone to not know about living Prothean DLC. Living Protean is too much "must have" to not inform people about it.

You actually need to grind away in MP to get a good single player ending. I think it's for the best that we just consider the utterly fantastic ME2 to be the de facto ending and leave the festering corpse of this series to rest in piece.

Actually devs said that it's not true. You still will be able to have the best ending, but it will be uber hard. I hope that it's true because it was almost impossible to get not the best ending in ME2 if you are intelligent human being.

I won't play multiplayer until I finish single player so maybe this time I will get some challenge (but I doubt that).

That's not true. You will get the best ending if you do all the sidequests before the final mission. The MP can be used to get the best ending without doing any side quest but it's not required.

Could you show me a source of this.

I'm asking for it because if that is true (part about "all side quests = best ending") then it's sucks. I always do all side quests and if it's enough to get best ending then it's just sad.
