Final 48 hours to buy 3 games up to 85% off & unlock 3 mystery mutator games for only $2 each.

The experiment is at its peak. The game selection is reaching its critical mass, and the screens in the lab are flashing images of fun awesomeness at the speed of light. We're risking a serious joy overload here, but one who takes no chances never makes any progress!

Today, we're mixing things up one final time in our Mutator Promo! Both the first batch of discounted base games and the batch we've added on Wednesday, are available simultaneously! At the same time, behind the curtain, we're adding even more games to the test tubes, so - again - you can come across previously not encountered mutators!

Get at least 3 out of 70+ great titles to unlock 3 out of over 50 mystery mutator games for $2 each. What are they? Well, this wouldn't be very scientific if we knew that prior to the experiment! Might be a $5 game, might be an $45 game. Can your personal wishlist rig the outcome of the experiment? Who knows! The beauty of our chaotic universe at its finest, now in the Mutator Promo on GOG.com.

These are the final hours of this promo offer. It will Sunday, October 12, at 10:59AM GMT. Don't miss your chance at experiencing the wonder of discovery!

Cyraxpt: I think it's the other way around, the games that are on the BIG games BIG sale were removed from the mutators pool.
avatar
mm3n: Shadow Warrior is already confirmed though, as well as Expeditions: Conquistador. I think these are the only 2 games which appeared so far though.
Oh, my bad, i thought you were talking about the ones that were available to the first mutators list (Banished, Gods will be watching, Divinity Dragon Commander, etc), those haven't appeared today.

CeissaDesiste: I have to say that I definitely dislike this promo and won't be participating in it again.

I bought Cat Lady, Divine Divinity and Beyond Divinity

and got Capitalism Plus, Wizardry 6&7, and Tower of Guns as my Mutators. Two of these games I will never play and the third I already own on Steam!

Wasted $6 for crap! I'd rather have my $6 back to spend on 3 more of the games on sale than the random crap they gave me!

I would rather see the Insomniac Sale run more often than gambles like this!

Vythonaut: Sorry to hear that you don't like the games you received although i find Wizardry 6 & 7 to be a good game and Tower of Guns to be a good roguelike/ FPS to play some hours with. But don't think you've wasted your six dollars - you made the choice to play and gamble and that's all about luck you know, don't feel sad... You can always GA or trade the games you don't like assuming you clicked the gift button!

And you can go here http://www.gog.com/forum/general/tribute_to_my_gifters_a_small_paying_it_forward_ga/page1 and take part in this giveaway. You'll have the chance to win some good games to wash the hard feelings! :-)
Unfortunately I don't hit gift when I buy my games because I know they are games I want to buy. Yeah it was a gamble and I didn't say the games suck. I said I already own one of them on Steam (Wizardry 6 & 7) in which it was a waste because now I have 2 copies of the same game. The other two games are just not my cup of tea. I can't play shooters on PC because I'm not really an FPS kind of girl and when I do play them its on my consoles with friends who can carry me along because I suck so badly. Capitalism Plus I will probably give a chance, but with so many other games I've tried like this, I get bored really fast when all your doing is mainly reading and queuing up actions.

I love GOG, but this type of sale is just not a good fit for the site until they implement a way that users can track all the games they own, so you aren't getting duplicates and possibly setting up the generator so it spews out games based on the users buying habits.
The two sales remind me of that Family Guy episode.

"Would you like one of these big games, or buy three of these little ones and get... The Mystery Box?"

My guess was the rest of the games that didn't appear so far in the mutators lists and are in the current big games promo would be mutators today. Would be nice to have AoW 3 or Blackguards there, but it seems so far we don't. Still good games on good prices though, just wish the mutators had a little bigger intrigue to keep you hooked to discover more of them.
I got Syndicate Wars, that's actually a pretty nice mutation.
Hi, sorry if this has been asked before but can Mutators be games I already own?

Yes, it's possible, but you will know because, before you pay, it will tell you that it must be a "gift order" and you'll have to enter an email address to send the "gift" to.
Thanks for your quick answer! You are awesome!

I did it 2 times and have not gotten any games from my wishlist. I am very disappointed. I own a lot of games. 200+ and would have expected at least one big title. I feel a bit ripped off to be honest. Not doing this ever again. I wish I could get a refund because the second 3 games were just aweful.

I own 298 games now. As a loyal GOG buyer I thaught I would get at least 1 big game. Alas...

Who can resist the mystery box?! It can be a boat!
Wow. I am a lucky bastard. Just out of curiosity, to see if I would get duplicates, I clicked 3 random games I didn't own just to see what kind of mutators I might get. The checkout tells me I would have saved $97, which means there were at least a couple of big ones. So, what the hey! I bought it and ended up with these mutators:

- Raven, The: Legacy of a Master Thief ($4.99 on sale, regularly $24.99)
- Blackwell Epiphany, The ($14.99)
- Unrest Special Edition ($16.66 on sale, regularly $24.99)

$65 worth of games for $6. Not shabby at all and they were on my wishlist. Even the random games I clicked are nice to have.

So I decided to try the experiment again, but this time I didn't click randomly. So I had two of the games on Steam, but now I have them DRM free, and they were cheap. Checkout says: "you save $100". Seems this batch also had a few big ones, so what the hey again! Here's what popped out the second time:

- Expeditions: Conquistador ($4.99 on sale, regularly $19.99)
- Divinity: Dragon Commander Imperial Edition ($17.99 on sale, regularly $44.99)
- Gods Will Be Watching: Special Edition ($13.39 on sale, regularly $19.99)

All for a total of about $10 including the games I clicked and the mutators. I would have been happy to pay that for Divinity: Dragon Commander alone.

At this point, I thought, "I'll pick the last remaining 3 low-priced games and see what it offers me." It comes back with, "you save $93". Oh, crap! Now I have to buy it just to see what they are. This is clearly turning into a gambling addiction. But what did I get?

- Shadow Warrior (2013) ($9.99 on sale, regularly $39.99)
- Shadowrun: Dragonfall - Director's Cut ($14.99)
- Last Federation, The ($9.99 on sale, regularly $19.99)

Yeah, you guessed it: I had to try one last time. This is what came out:

- 1954 Alcatraz ($3.99 on sale, regularly $19.99)
- Democracy 3 ($6.24 on sale, regularly $24.99)
- Gone Home ($9.99 on sale, regularly $19.99)

This is freakish. I have to fly to Las Vegas before it runs out!

Was all that today or since this promotion begin?
@puviani

You are very, very lucky. Hope you are not someone from GOG posting this to lure other people into doing this because I got aweful games.

That's awesome! May I ask how many games you owned before this promo?
