The Star Control series has what is is arguably one of the best the game of space exploration ever made! The games are epic space opera with clever humor, thrilling starship battles, and hair-raising plot twists; it’s a mix of genres many of titles have tried to copy--often without success--and it’s one of the most influential titles of the ‘90s. If you are a *camper* who likes to have *parties*, buy Star Control 1+2 for only $1.49 or Star Control 3, the final part of the series, for the same low price.

Haegemonia Gold Edition consists of Legions of Iron (the main game) and the expansion: Solon Heritage. It’s an epic sci-fi RTS set during a civil war between Earth and Mars colonies. Pick a side - be it Earth or Mars - and forge a better future for your people. Build, command, and lead your forces in this challenging 3D RTS, where you can eventually build a multi-system empire that pits you against a variety of aliens who all seem to want one thing: everything you have.

Master of Orion 1+2 series is a paragon of sci-fi managerial strategy. Lead your race towards galactic domination in a universe full of opportunity. Those games are so complex and satisfying, that you could easily play them for years.

Nexus: The Jupiter Incident might easily be one of the most captivating and feature-rich space combat tactical games. Additionally it has a huge fanbase and modbase--check the Mod Spotlight we have prepared for the game for even richer space exploration experience.

Fragile Allegiance is an excellent addition to the conquer-the-galaxy genre, a combination of SimCity, Civilization, and Master of Orion with complex diplomacy and challenging AI.

Don't forget the two space combat simulators Independence War Deluxe's and Independence War 2 and complete your space collection for 75% off today in Santa in SPAAAAACE bundle.

jackster79: Somehow I missed the news about yesterday being the last day for XIII to be in the catalog, and thus did not get to purchase the game before time ran out. If this was announced, where was it announced so that I will not make this mistake in the future? I have been checking back at least once during every 24hr sale period during the Xmas sales and do not recall seeing this news anywhere... (FYI - for those wondering, I used up my budget for games already and thus was not going to get anymore, but would have made an exception for this one had I known about it in advance).
there were 2 threads for it, but not stickied (would have been good to get stickied for a day or 2 while it was still up).

on was in the discussion forum for the game itself, one the general forum.

im pretty sure they put it on their Twitter + Facebook,
not that id look there.

the last batch of games was just mysteriously vanished one day if i remembered and read accurately. so even any announcement was lucky.
myself i wouldnt mind getting an email directly from the GOG admins/website pushed to my email account in the rare situations games are about to get pulled.
if there were an option in the settings or a email list for pending game removals id sign up for that.

a few people stocked up on gift codes for XIII and hosted a few giveaways, you might try joining one of those if any are currently alive. (watch out for any in the future as well who knows)

or put a classifieds ad requesting someone trade with you if they happen to have one of the gift codes (bought it before time expired predicting this situation).

http://www.gog.com/forum/general/classifieds/

just watch out for the scammer who apparently has resurfaced. double check the Rep and sign up date in the PMs and do some searches with the exact username to triple check. (the scammer has been impersonating good rep people using the same exact name plus a period or a space or underscore in a weird spot that you might miss out on).

many GOGers are cool to trade with.
as P1na said right before you "Seriously, people, THIS IS A NICE SITE. With a NICE COMMUNITY."

SirPrimalform: Hmmm, nah. Sorry GOG, too many games I don't want. Instead of getting more money by making me buy games I don't want, you've put me off buying the ones I would otherwise have bought.

P1na: Seriously, people, THIS IS A NICE SITE. With a NICE COMMUNITY.

Am I seriously the only person who's thought of trading games? I'm getting tired of suggesting it.
And how exactly do I go about doing that, hmm? I buy the bundle and... oh, all the games have been added to my account! I buy it as a gift and... oh, I get 1 gift code. If you're getting tired of suggesting it, stop suggesting it because it doesn't make sense.

It makes perfect sense. You find someone who owns the bundle and wants to buy something outside that bundle. So that person gifts you whatever part of the bundle you wanted, at 75% discount, you gift an equivalent (or mutually agreed) game in exchange.

Now, you can argue about trust or how hard it is to find someone in such circumstances. To which I can only answer this. As I said, this is a nice place. If I'm going to spend 3$ anyway, why not make someone else happy while I do it?

Let your voices be heard!

They'll get to it eventually. Similar stuff has already been done, and I don't think the folks at GOG HQ hate the idea. Get it to 1,000, and I expect it will soon-after be marked "in progress."

Yeah, that too. I'll go vote for it right now.

And yes, this isn't steam where they force you to buy a bundle and you lose anything you already had. This is GOG. And that means something.

How can they gift a single game at the full discount?

More to the point, it doesn't change the fact that I shouldn't have to resort to that... My message was to GOG, explaining that their current way of doing things is losing them money. It's also a bit late to find someone and I'm not sure I can be bothered. They would have been an impulse purchase, effort and impulse purchases don't mix.

Look, GOG is not steam and they have their own way of working. They'll know what kind of sales work best for them, and we can either whine or make the best of the situation.

The bundles in GOG are not like on other vendors. On steam, you buy a bundle and you need to redeem it all, losing any duplicate game you might have. On GOG, when you buy a game it checks if you have the rest of the bundle (either on your shelf on on the current cart) and if you do, you get the discount. So if you own the full bundle, as I do, you can gift single games at full discount. So I can trade two 6$ games from the bundle at 75% discount for a single 6$ game outside the bundle, as both are basically 3$.

Impulse and effort don't mix, true. I guess GOG decided that it pays off to give up on those impulse purchases. But, if you actually care about getting those games at discount, you can still do it. Seriously, let me know which games you want and I'll get them for you! Can't make it easier.

Thanks for the offer, but my impulse to get them ended up passing (I'll probably get them some other time). Besides, I was doing things this afternoon/evening/night and the bundle has expired. The offer is appreciated though!
