We're giving away 100 games a day to our users to celebrate our 5th birthday!
For the last 5 years we've been doing our best to bring the best games in history to your home computers. Now, we're celebrating our birthday, and we want you--our users--to have a blast! That's why for the next five days we'll be giving away 100 games a day via our different channels (the forums, social media, YouTube). The details of each giveaway will be revealed on day to day basis, so make sure to drop by daily and see what are we up to.
Today, we've planned something special for our long-time users, and it's all going to go down right here, right now--in the forums. We'd like to honor the people who have been with us the longest. If you think you're one of these people, post a comment in the forum thread below. Include the number of days you're on GOG.com (just upload a screenshot of the "Days on GOG.com" of your Account Info Page--please include that number in your post as well, to make our job a little easier, thanks!) and give us a one-sentence statement on what was it exactly that made you register with GOG.com. The first 100 users with the most time since registering will be sent a $9.99 gift-code.
You have time until tomorrow, that's Tuesday, October 1, at 2:59PM GMT to enter the giveaway, as at that time we'll be moving to another communications channel with a new set of rules. So, GOG.com old-timers, show off how long have you been with us!
1747. Not going to go through 125+ pages to find out if I have a chance still or not but I reckon it can't be too bad. I also hope gog has some automated system for sorting through all these posts otherwise I do not envy the person(Judas?) that will have to go through this thread.

Edit: Also the reason I joined was the DRM free aspect I like to be able to play my old games whenever I want to.

I wanted to play Fallout and didn't want to have to mess with no-cds, ISOs, etc.

I also liked that it was DRM free.

Looks like I'm a relative newbie myself at 657 days. I love the DRM-free games, but I especially love being able to play the classics -- the ones I loved and the ones I missed out on -- without having to run virtual machines or jump through complicated loops to get them to run on my modern computer.

I read up online about GOG.com and how you guys had the original Fallout games. I was also pleasantly surprised that you guys offered good free games like Beneath A Steel Sky.

When I joined I believe my thoughts were along these lines:
Dos era games running on a modern machine without me needing to tweak them? Rock on! ^_^

I registered with GOG, because not only do you have great old titles from the glory days of computer gaming, but they run on my modern PC too!

1833 days. I signed up for the DRM-free old games, but my first purchase was Arx Fatalis. That was one of the earlier games that required online activation and I passed when it first came out. I was so thrilled to finally get it DRM-free.

1238 days for me.

Friend of mine pointed me to GOG, saw you guys had a bunch of old games I remember playing for good prices, and have been basking in the nostalgia ever since - along with making the acquaintance of some new games.
