Typhoon's been under some pressure himself, could simply be an attempt to point the finger at somebody else. Orry is a good target, since almost everyone has him at/near the top of their suspects list.

I also don't know if you're being sarcastic with the proof thing, but it would be an awfully boring game if every townie can provide proof of their innocence.

A bit of an aside now: I'm sort of wondering what kind of proof Typhoon or anyone else expects in this game. On an abstract level, Mafia is applied scientific method -- you don't get anywhere without experimenting. That's how you get your proof. And by the by, Day Two is not particularly early in the game, either, when there's just 12 of us -- with two townies down, it's presumably 7 to 3 now. Not a very comfortable ratio.

By the same logic, I do agree we shouldn't make rash decisions. A mislynch now and we're looking at 5 to 3 tomorrow, which is pretty bad, not to mention the chance of the mafia hitting one of our power roles at night increases. But if you're going to wait for something definite, you could wait forever -- for example if the mafia's strategy in this game is laying low, which it very well could be.

In other words, it's normal to doubt. The only people who have no doubts in this game are the mafia. But first and foremost, it's a game, and sometimes it's a game of risk.

So much for my thought processes. I'm not sure what I wanted to say by all that; I'm not at my brightest these days. Take it as you will.

Sorry, comment on which bit? I may have missed this one. Is it #271? If so, I'll say that

a) I don't exactly have much of a paper trail on this one.. just two ongoing games here and one ongoing game on Mafiascum, and no other complete/incomplete games anywhere, so there's not really much to base my play on "compared to other games". In the other game I saw someone to clearly attack based on something that lingered in my thought from Day 1. Here there's nothing of the sort because Damnation took over the town's focus and got promptly lynched. My focus on you now is because of your 180 degree turn in terms of scumhunting policy from Day 1. But yes, I can see how we've basically swapped positions, heh.

b) Baz "expressed his disappointment in you" -after- you had started to already hint at your damaged credibility. You only turned it up to full notch and started to lay in on thick, as far as I can interpret, after he mentioned that in his post. I think I highlighted and quoted the posts earlier. It's as though you were waiting for him to do so before you really broke the dam. And of course you'd think Baz was town, following the theory that you were waiting for him to start the credibility thing so that you could lay into it full force, and clear whoever your remaining suspects were in Day 1 that way. But I agree he seems a decently strong town read. I don't agree you are, as you don't agree I am.

c) Besides making my case that you are Mafia, and then waffling on it a little, most of my venom has been toward that piece of misinformation about the suggesting cop = godfather that certain various people pushed. Because the entire case was contingent on Damnation actually flipping scum, which he did not. You're welcome to be suspicious of me but at least build it around a real case, like me and Orry voting for the same person right now.

d) You aren't voting for me, I believe, though you say you are in #271.

I am voting for you, Zchinque just miscounted. I felt like bothering him about it but forgot to. For proof, check the vote-count prior to this last one, then read all my posts thereafter. In none did I change my vote.

You still fail to realize that the case of suggesting a cop still holds, because its useful to mafia regardless.

Both me and Orryyrro are under scrutiny, if you haven't noticed. And we were both mentioned by Damnation. But you suggested Orryyrro, not the one who pushed a mislynch, and Orryyrro hadn't even done anything concrete except get mentioned by Damnation in the Mafia gambit post. The point is clear: you wanted to get your scumbuddy out of the line of fire. Right now that whole line of inquiry is coming in under too much fire, though, and you've wisely dropped it and stuck to saying it was a mere coincidence. Seems unlikely to me, though.

As for my damaged credibility, I got three or four posts in maybe before Baz mentioned that, and all were certainly small? I was "laying it on thick" even then, I just hadn't posted as much at that point. Making that entire train of thought (that I was waiting for something I could work with) completely irrelevant. I'm just feeding you rope on the subject of my credibility being unharmed now, because we both know it's complete and utter bull.
