Hi guys, I feel better now. I guess the 12 hours of sleep helped. :-)
GameRager: I see it more as N0x0ss explaining his feelings on gameon than defending him.....but that's just me.
No, it was explaining of gameon's reasoning. He is not making assumptions, he's presenting it as facts.
GameRager: I wonder if you're offering kind advice here or just trying to spread suspicion among the town.
Spread suspicion among town? That's the point! You can't be sure who is town right now and no one can label someone as town because he agreed with him on one thing.
GameRager: Scum would probably want someone lynched to hopefully get two town kills in one day instead of one, but they'd probably be happy to get one kill and avoid the chance that the one lynched would be a fellow scum.
They would want nolynch because even with completely random lynch there 25% chance it will hit scum. With nolynch there is 0% chance. Also people are saying here they want to have more info on next day. What is better source of informations than lynch? They will be happy with nolynch as it will provide no info about them.
GameRager: Good question.....maybe Gazoinks didn't have reads for those players yet for some reason? Maybe they're town and Gazoinks is scum and is trying to make the unmentioned players look to be scum in order to get people to lynch them?
Or maybe you're just trying to cast a light of suspicion on Gazoinks yourself?
I doubt this. How would not mentioning them as scum make them more suspicious? I don't believe someone would try to cast suspicion this way. If he left out 2 players I would suspect scumbuddies but this way I am willing to believe he forgot them so I consider it null.
GameRager: We can only get so much "intel" from reading into player replies from such bandwagons, with less and less chance of new insihts each time. Eventually it'll be less helpful to wait and more helpful(to the health of the game as a whole.) to move on.
Sure, I agree. But so far there was no such wagon (other than nolynch one) so no intel was gathered and it is foolish to try to move into night.
GameRager: It helps move the game along. And while nolynch might not be ideal/good idea for games moving at a regular(for mafia) pace, it can possibly be a big help to get a slow game moving.
Hmm, so why so many people, including you, were pushing the nolynch almost since the game started?
GameRager: I'm willing to bet that for many games where consensus was achieved regularly there are similar examples of games dying/nearly dying from not being able to achieve a consensus on one or more days. Past experiences don't necessarily indicate or predict the way in which similar present/future experiences will go.
Similar examples? Sure. Similar number. No way. Only small percentage of games has such problems and it is strange to enter the game with expectation of them.
GameRager: I'd have to agree with you.....the game seems to be moving along nicely(barring a few slow irl days when no one posted), with plenty of discussion. I just hope we don't take months to get over the dreaded day one hump, is all. The
could lead to the chance of people quitting for some reason, which I want to avoid(As if it started happening the game would have a higher chance of dying and I don't want to see that happen.).
So why were advocating nolynch?
Although you moved a bit toward scum after this post, I really thank you for posting it. ;-)
Question for you, do you have any suspect?
Also, who is up for lynching IronStar?
