Nearly two weeks later, and a patch is finally available to correct the DRM issue. Completely unacceptable, both that this was allowed to happen in the first place and that it took them this long to deal with it.
Almost forgot, in case anyone needs it, you can find the patch here:

I know someone who bought a used copy of this game for dirt just a couple of days ago. Boy will he be happy.
