There are many games I'd like to see for the anniversary but most of them aren't "big" enough to make them worthy of an anniversary. Electronic Popple and Stratosphere: Conquest of the Skies are near the top of my list. Rocket Jockey was near the top but another DRM-free store is releasing that, soon. Didn't expect to see it anytime soon. Can't complain too much about this year's releases, so far.

joppo: The same way the guys over at PC Gaming Wiki collect that information, of course. By starting a game, saving it, and then looking for recently changed files.

SargonAelther: And you want Galaxy to make that determination?
Of course not! Where did you get that idea from?

This is not something that should be determined by Galaxy at the time the user is playing the game, but by a Gog employee at the time the game is accepted into the store, long before it is put up for sale. Exactly for the reasons you stated.

Thus when the game is being prepared for sale a Gog employee would record ONCE in which folder the game stores its savefiles. Later when Galaxy decides it is time or is prompted to sync saves with the cloud it can retrieve that config and know directly what folder to sync for that game. No fussing around in your PC needed at all.

Well you sentence contained no agent in your reply to me, asking how would "Galaxy" know, so I assumed you meant Galaxy itself as the agent of that determination action, rather than an employee of GOG. I could not have known what you meant exactly any more than a person who received a simple "Yes" as an answer to his question of "Would you like some apple juice or some orange juice"?

Anyway, yes, a GOG employee could do this, that's true, but I would not be surprised if there is a lot of bureaucracy involved in such things and GOG cannot intervene, either legally or ethically.

Personally, I don't use cloud saves anyway, 'cause they always seem to cause more problem than they solve, but I have very specific use cases, so I'm not a target audience for cloud saves to begin with.

Ah I can see why you thought my post was saying it was Galaxy's job but yeah I didn't mean that.
Completely new storefront and complete forum reboot.
Voluntary moderators chosen from the community without 'bias towards fairness'.
Less focus on Galaxy, start calling the "backup installers" the actual game again.

3rd person mode for Cyberpunk 2077 so I can finally play the game.
Mass Effect Legendary edition release.
Sea of Stars release.

Check on Nexus, there is a mod in progess for Third Person.
It's about time they gave us more time. I do hope they're still working on that.
my wish would be for steam integration to work

YES.

If your dev staff are too strapped for time or have no idea how to go about it, reach out to the talented community members who are coding their own ones. I'm sure you can have an official working prototype made very quickly.

Have you tried the following?

SargonAelther: Something from Bethesda is likely, but we're not getting Doom Eternal, it is still too new and still uses Denuvo. We're not getting Fallout 4, as it's too early too. We need to wait for a 10 year old anniversary edition to be released on Steam and then add another 2 years. Then we can start expecting Fallout 4 on GOG.
Well, you were wrong :p
My wish would be a GOG offline mod manager for Skyrim and Fallout 4.

And a Total war sale (including the warhammer games) :)

I don't want to increase the hype too much, but if they've already released a big deal like Fallout 4, I imagine they have something even more extraordinary in store for the anniversary. :D
