Oh wow, already 10 years this franchise goes on... And Ubisoft hits the mark as it should.

Ezio 2 was my favorite so far, so tense, fresh and varied; Brotherhood had great gameplay additions but missed the character growth and different cities of the 2, Revelations was meh.. I've played 1, Liberation HD and China beside, still have to play the rest sitting in my backlog for some years... I have read on many sites current giveaway is top 3 material with the new Origins and 2, well, open seas and ship battles, that's thrilling just by context.

Sooo enough with my opinion, obviously this freebie doesn't include its dlc's and is Uplay exclusive, be quick to grab it while its hot, offer last seven days from 11 to 18 dec 2017.

Maybe I am silly but not even with such temptations will I get a UPlay account
Thanks for reminding me about this one.

Already have a Uplay account so may as well use it. I have a ton of freebies there now... maybe someday I'll play them XD
I also have an account on Uplay, and I just keep unlocking free games on it. So thanks for bringing this to my attention,
koima57.

Unless Ubisoft ever releases a Uplay exclusive game, that I absolutely have to play, I'll never install their client. Until then, their drawn out Assassin Creed and Farcry series, the abortions that are Heroes 6&7 and Anno 2070&2205, have no pull for me.

Edit: I just remembered South Park: The Fractured But Whole. What a clusterfuck that is. Denuvo and Uplay, but you can buy it on STEAM.

Still too expensive...
Any way to register this without installing UPlay? Yeah, sure, I can't install or play it without the client but if I at least can register it to my account, I can bother with trying to get it to work in Wine later.
I already bought Black Flag off Steam. I had to register for Uplay, but once I did that, I could easily play offline. Oh, and the Uplay that came with Steam was way out of date. I had to uninstall and then find the up to date version. :/

Is there no way? I don't remember having to install uplay to create an account. That's unless they changed something in the last two years.

You can do it in the uplay website. I've just login and registered the game in my account.

Great!
It's a cracking game. Make sure it's the jackdaw edition. I had loads of issues with eagle vision on original release. Same it's marred by the same two things as all ac games: endless "collectibles" in place of a long storyline, and the whole future animus bollox. Nothing spoils an immersion more than going back to your desk and plodding around a computer centre for no purpose. Otherwise it's great, shop combat is spot on (if only man of war could have been a fraction of this). The dlc freedoms cry is not bad either, as is rogue, both are shorter however. Definitely o e of the best in series.

I think you might want to clarify that.

Edit: Actually I looked at the keyboard as to how it might have happened. You pressed "space" instead of "n".
Definitely one of the best in series.

Things like this show how up your arse this community really is. Free game, lets do nothing but whinge. It's free you miserable shits. So you have to download it on Uplay, big deal. It is free...

Themken: Maybe I am silly but not even with such temptations will I get a UPlay account
I already created an UPlay account a couple of months ago when Ubisoft was offering some other freebie (that GTA clone or whatever it was, I don't remember the name... EDIT: It was "Watch Dogs", it is sitting there in my UPlay account).

It seems my UPlay account will be like my Origin account: I visit only if there is some freebie to be claimed.

I guess I will get this freebie too because it is there, but I am unsure if and when I will play it. It is like I recall getting the Dragon Age freebie on Origin, but it lacked the DLC/expansion pack, so I never even got around to play that freebie. And now I have the complete version on GOG instead, so...

It also irritates me to know that I only have the first AssCreed game (on GOG), and then this, without its DLCs... how many AssCreed games will I be missing in between? Does it matter? Anyway, hard to complain about missing DLCs when it is a freebie.
