Hi,

Is there any chance to preload the game (witcher 3) before the release date ?
I would like to download it few days earlier... 40GB its about 2 hours of downloading :)

And as far as I know, servers could be busy / offline @ release...

Pffft. If you can download 40GB in 2 hours you hardly have a reason to complain. I won't even attempt it on my connection, so retail it is. :P

But yeah, I suspect they will allow people to do that, if only so their servers won't blow up on release day.

They did allow pre-loading for Witcher 2, but nothing official has been announced for Witcher 3 so far.

Yeah, thats why I ask :)

I've already preloaded GTAV (~60GB) - so I REALLY hope - W3 will have preload too..
Downloading TW3 will be a nightmare for me, Lately I've been getting 'limited connection' on win7 and winXP, The amount of times I had to go into my living room to soft reset the router whilst download Bioshock Infinite [17GB].

Any chance you can send me a Boxed version GOG? I'll pay the P&P

[edit] After I wrote this I decided to fix this problem once an for all, so far so good

I set a static IP address in my router, but also found this which I did

http://www.consumingexperience.com/2008/06/vista-bt-home-hub-limited-connectivity.html

For a test I'm downloading F.E.A.R 7gb, 2GB gone and no Limited connection thus far.

/touch forehead

[edit2] spoke too soon, but 5gb downloaded without limited connection is a good sign!, more tinkering required.

I'm sure CDPROJECT RED / GoG have a plan so that we can all have the game ready and waiting for us all on launch day, so I wouldn't worry too much about no news about pre-loading just yet.

As for servers being busy / offline, I'd guess that things won't be too bad as the "die hard" Steam fans will have ordered it over there, whist we DRM free fans will be getting it from here. There is currently a load / speed test going on ( http://www.gog.com/forum/general/help_us_improve_your_download_speeds_2015_edition ) which is no doubt being used as a gauge for how well the servers will cope, not to mention a couple of 'Galaxy Stress Tests' that have been made in recent months.

So the only thing I'd be worrying about really would be, how will I have all the hours to play the game to its fullest! :D (I'm sure it'll involve a lack of sleep / going out )
I get around 200k/sec, which translates to about 2Gb a day... If you can get 40Gb in 2 hours, really don't complain... just don't...

I have the same 2mbit connection you do. Hope to download it within a few days if I leave it on the whole time.

edit: If I could survive downloading final fantasy XIII (60GB) this should be a bit less soul-crushing. And W3 isn't even a shitty port!

200 kB/s or 200 kb/s? If it's kB/s, then it's closer to 16GB a day, not 2. And if it's 200kb/s, then you really need to start slapping your ISP to provide better line for you.

I feel you man, 300k/sec here
HA! Two hours!
I know my internet connection is particularly crappy, but 2 hours for 40GB is absolutely nothing you should complain about!
Just the other day I needed to wait for 2 hours nd 40 minutes... to update the nVidia drivers. 217Mb. Now, this is a reason to complain about! In vast areas of my country we still use a copper twisted pair more than 40 years old...

I have been battling against ISPs since January, but none has been able to grant me a decent speed (and with "decent" I mean "right now I would prefer to have more than my maximum of 50kbps in dowload") yet. I could go wireless, that works perfectly in my zone, yet it would cost me an astronomic amount of money (nearly 110€ each month for just 8Gb, and that is definitely not feasible). Italy... sigh. The government has been promising wider bands everywhere for decades, yet I still have to see them anywhere but in five or six major cities.

*sob* My connection is slower and more expensive. You're fine. :P
on Win 7 my download speed is 2MB/s, just a shame it drops out now and again, but it's a BThomeHub2, maybe it's getting burnt out, BT keep pestering me to upgrade to fibre. I must be the last person in my town on Adsl2.

anyway F.E.A.R downloaded with just one interuption.

I won't be downloading TW3 stright away, I have a back catalog to catch up with.

All the best

2 hrs for downloading 40gb, that is absolutely awful. Seriously, try doing that at 1.6mbps, I'll be there for a while.
