It's a memorable series, yes, but we have some pretty fine "options" in here! :)
Recently released ones, actually.

I guess I need to be one of those "gotta ask less and play more" type of dude ;P
Strange enough, the Origin version of C&C: Ultimate Collection works fine on 8.1 (the very old ones included). So, if EA wanted, GOG would have released the C&C series series without any problems.

darthspudius: Well you could, but some levels it is just too much effort. That and did EA not patch that out of their latest re-release?

P1na: No idea, I played it back in the day and haven't replayed it recently. It would be a pity if they did though, I had so much fun trapping the enemy harvester.
I know they definitely patched the radar "build anywhere" trick.

fablefox: Does anyone know how to make Red Alert 2 + Yuri Revenge works on Windows 8.1?

tomimt: The Origin version runs right off the bat in Win 8.1, only needing the small ini tweak in order to increase the game speed. I doubt the original disc version has any official patches released for it, so unofficial patches are propably your only option.
mine don't :-(

previously it didn't run at all. after i follow some of the answers at their official support.ea forum, disable origin in game and add command line -m, now it just black screen.

but thanks. i'll try to investigate it later. busy with DOA5 anyway right now.

the old one works (RA1) and also the latest one (RA3). RA2 + Yuri didn't.

Come on, Electronic Arts, what's the hold-up?
why can't we all have free choco ice cream?
Hah, voted long ago. Doubtfull anything will change on that front anytime soon. EA is focusing totally on Origin. Waiting also for Armies of Exigo, Dune 2000, Emperor Battle for Dune and other classical rts titles burried in EAs vault.
