With the amount of votes for the series on the wishlist, you'd think it would be a no-brainer. Why hasn't this happened already?

Because EA wants it exlusively on Origin. Yes, even the older games.

Barry_Woodward: Electronic Arts has released many titles here, what's the hold-up with the Command & Conquer games?
My guess would be that the holdup is because they are already on Origin, and EA would like to force people to use it if they want those games.

Edit: Ninja'd.

Do you have a link to back that up or is it just speculation?

Because the wishlist actually doesn't matter either way contrary to popular opinion, and all games that are added to GOG are done on a completely arbitrary basis.

what makes you think the wishlist even matters ?
its just an indication of what we like to see not an absolute rule gog has to follow

and if EA doesnt want to play ball and wants to consolidate their titles on origin

Sad but true. :/ Doesn't really make sense though since there are already so many EA games here.

The Wishlist matters. A business needs to know what its customers want and what's important for them. The Wishlist is one of GOGs tools for that. How much it matters though is open for debate.

Sold on and [url=http://www.gamersgate.com/DD-CCUC/command-and-conquer-ultimate-collection]GamersGate (regionally-restricted to America by the way) as an Origin key. Even the so-called physical edition requires an Origin account. Yup, there is no indication that EA would want it on anything else other than Origin.

Just because it's Origin-only now, doesn't mean that a GOG-release is impossible. Why are they treating the Command & Conquer series differently from the other classic games they've released here?

Barry_Woodward: Why make the Command & Conquer series Origin-only and not other classic games?
because of the name
command and conquer is a bigger name then wing commander or crusader
so its better leverage to get people to use origin
Don't forget they are currently bundling the C&C games in boxes. Last year or something i saw a C&C collection of like 13 games for $20-$30, so they are still trying to milk it. They will probably only drop it or put it on GoG when they feel making physical media has no profit anymore.

That and Origin as mentioned before. I don't want another DD system that i don't trust. I can't recall if my Far Cry 3 (Blood Dragon) required Origin or Uplay, however it does. Thankfully that's what cracked versions are for.... (to be fair i redeemed the code before i downloaded the other version, and gave the SimCity game away to someone who wanted it...)

SimCity is a pretty big name as well and they just released SimCity 4: Deluxe Edition May 29th of this year.

Why don't you ask EA about that? Maybe they think that it's their trump card. Same case about American McGee's Alice, which is also Origin-only, despite being a 14-years-old game.
