foxgog: that is either from one of the SpongeBob games (although, I did not know you can play as young crabs) or it is from this souls-like crab adventure (another crab's treasure or something).

I have not played either of these, so not sure about the name(s).

Well, after reviewing the three SpongeBob games available here at GOG.COM, I think they and their environments are more "goofy" or "wacky".
So, I would guess it rather be "Another Crab's Reasure" or what this souls-like game was called.

So, I would guess it rather be "Another Crab's Reasure" or what this souls-like game was called.

Hello again, foxgog. "Another Crab's Treasure" is, indeed, the correct answer. A fun game that was the last title I finished on my ancient i7-920/1050 ti PC, before I finally purchased a modern gaming rig last weekend.

Thanks! Unfortunately it's been crashing to desktop in some games, primarily UE5s but occasionally in others too. I'm hoping it's a driver issue or something, I'll try clean re-installing them this weekend. I really don't want to take this PC back to Microcenter for diagnostics...

The screens have much too high of a resolution for GBA - which also didn't have a 16:9 ratio but 3:2. If we're looking for an actual Mario game and not some fan project (which is also unlikely given how enthusiastically those're being nipped in the bud by Big-N) my guess would be on a rather unknown spin-off series.
