Catventurer: Monster Hunter Rise?
Ding! We have a winner! Help yourself to some bunny dango! :-)

Yes, it's Monster Hunter Rise, the only MH game I have played. I have it on my Switch, which is where I took the screenshots (and why they are sub-HD resolution). I got it from a second-hand game store a few months ago. It's a really fun and quite addictive game - I was shocked at how fast I poured 100 hours into it, lol.

Rise is the one they released after World. It was designed for the Switch (but later ported to PC), so it's more streamlined and focused on portability. It's kind of a return to the simpler MH formula pre-World. It's set in Japan and has several cool unique monsters that are based on creatures from Japanese folklore. I definitely recommend!

Duke Garland: That second screen kinda gives me a feeling as if there's a Royal Ludroth waiting for me around the corner, but none of the screens look familiar with any Monster Hunter I've played. (Everything is looking quite "empty" anyways, no carves no monsters or anything...) And if it was one of the PC based titles it would've certainly been solved already... No idea. But that new hint will hopefully help.
The funny thing is, there literally was a Royal Ludroth just around that corner! I had to wait for it to walk past before I could take the shot. XD

The funny thing is that I had tried guessing Monster Hunter the other day. That screen shot with the creature made me think that it was either something in the Monster Hunter or Far Cry series. When GOG glitched and ate my MH guess, that's when I decided to guess Far Cry. Oh and the only game I've played that has anything that looks like Chichen Itza is Civilization, and that's not a 4x game.

Anyway, I've been sick... I need lunch and my cat needs lunch. Once both of us have been attended to in terms of food, I will post a screen shot. I actually have one in mind, and it will be a great excuse to replay the game in question. :)
Here we go!

I bet you would like to go rummaging through my desk for clues! There's lots of clues in that desk in the screen shot, both for me in terms of what I need to do and for you in terms of what game it is. I'm about 10-15 minutes into this game.

Note - Image has been cropped to remove the interface (as I may as well just post the game's name myself if I let you see that) and resized because GOG said the image file was too chonky.

It is not.....

But since I just opened the desk up, another clue is going to be coming very shortly.

(I need to AFK first.)
Asylum?
Clue #2

I bet you were expecting to see piles of paper with words that you could look up on the Internet and be "Ah ha! It's that game!" No such luck. There's no papers to be found inside the desk that I showed you. This is the real interior.

Like with my prior screen shot, this has been cropped to hide the interface... and resized as it is otherwise far too chonky for GOG.

We go to the kitchen next... or I go to the kitchen that is.
Yes, that is a clue. There really is a kitchen.

It is not either of these games....

Okay, I wasn't in the kitchen long, but I will be returning at some point. You'll get to see it later. I'm going to call this place the Weird Stuff Location because the actual name might be too revealing. Oh and there's something in the corner off to the left just off screen that I'm not letting you see because well...

I promise that as things progress, I will post screen shots that become increasingly revealing.

Sorry. No.

I got something really interesting in that globe off to the side of the prior screen shot and stuck it on the wall underneath that large portrait.

Anyway, I went back to the kitchen and took a picture this time.

looks like those point and click games with still images, like Myst

You know. I have never actually played any of the Myst games, but this one does get compared to Myst. It also gets compared to The House of Da Vinci, which I'm saying because the next screen shots are blatantly not either game. The overall mood is a lot less friendly.

This post really can give away what game I'm playing all by itself without any help from any my prior posts.
