Up to 75% off tales worth telling: The Wolf Among Us, Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead, and more!

We grow up listening to stories: fairy tales, folk tales, surreal tales. But what if we could invade these stories, steer them the way we wanted? Perhaps get rid of an obnoxious character, try to save someone we like, or just grill the most interesting one with questions until we learn their entire story. Such opportunities abound in the 18 games that make up The Grand Telltale Sale, where dramatic narratives and absurd adventures coexist in peace, celebrating their reunion with discounts up to 75%!

What did America ever do to deserve such relentless, unbending, highly volatile law enforcers as Sam and Max? No idea but when the talking dog - hyperkinetic lagomorph duo hits the streets you better find yourself a good view for the explosion of hilarious antics, devious puzzles, and wanton violence that ensues.

The perfect blending of heroic fantasy with inevitable brutality is what keeps people coming back to the bleak world of Game of Thrones. House Forrester is an integral part of that story and their interactions with Daenerys, Tyrion, Cersei, or even Ramsey can often be as dramatic as any episode of the hit series.

Pick your favorite tales from The Grand Telltale Sale, going for up to -75%, and prepare for some of the most fun and immersive experiences out there: Tales from the Borderlands, Hector: Badge of Carnage, Back to the Future, The Walking Dead, and many more. Your future self will remember that.
The promo will last until June 30, 4:59 PM UTC.
Hmm, nah, not buying the ones I don't have yet 'til they're at least 75% off. Not gonna spend much on this dev until they fix Sam & Max.
Sorry GOG, but the summer sale hurt my backlog somewhat and buying more now doesn't really seem sensible. So if you don't mind, I'm going to play some of those games first ;)

Does anyone else find it odd that Tales from the Borderlands and A Wolf Among Us have the same base price, TftB was a higher profile title released a year more recently, and arguably the better game, yet AWAU is discounted to 50% while TftB is discounted at 66%.

Plus from what I have seen so far AWAU has consistently stayed more expensive than the rest, which is part of the reason why I do not own it yet.

Anyone have an idea why?

It sells well, so they decided to keep it at higher price point, even during sales? Yup, I totally pulled that out of my ass.

Wishbone: Uhm, yes. I know. That's what I wrote. The problem is that selecting some games (but weirdly only some of them) makes the text "Select more to save more" to appear, which is clearly wrong in this type of promo.
Seems it's based on price reduction. Current selection is lowered by 66% or more? Don't show "select more" prompt. Else do.

Sample:
- Game of Thrones, Tales from the Borderlands, and Minecraft: Story Mode gets me a 64% reduction and shows the prompt.
- Game of Thrones and Minecraft: Story Mode gets me a 63% reduction and shows the prompt.
- Game of Thrones, Tales from the Borderlands, and Minecraft: Story Mode gets me a 64% reduction and shows the prompt.
- Tales from the Borderlands gets me a 66% reduction and does not show the prompt.
- Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead: Michonne gets me a 66% reduction and does not show the prompt.
- Game of Thrones, Tales from the Borderlands, Wolf Among Us, Walking Dead: 400 Days, and Puzzle Agent gets me a 65% reduction and shows the prompt.

What's wrong with the Sam and Max games?

You're probably right, but it's still wrong that it shows the prompt at all.

Example:
Select Game Of Thrones and The Wolf Among Us. The discount is now 63% and the prompt is shown. Now do what the prompt says and select one more game, The Walking Dead: Michonne. The averaged discount now drops to 60%.

Sure, but you still "save" more, in the bizarre sales logic where you save more by spending more. With Game of Thrones and Wolf Among Us I get "You save $36.80", and adding Michionne I get "You save $45.30".

Of course, going by that notion, the prompt should be there at all times. No, I'm not saying it makes sense.

There's a bug in S&M Saves the World, Episode 1 that causes an inportant NPC to not appear at a certain point in the game. Unless you happen to know the workaround it renders the game unwinnable.

To leave such a bug in the game is inexcusable.

Add to that the fact that they haven't bothered to update Seasons 1 & 2 for Windows 10 compatibility.

Yes, if all the games were discounted by just 1%, that logic would still hold up, but the prompt clearly shouldn't be there at all for this type of promo.
The problem with the Telltale games is that I already own all of them on Telltale's website. I also own most of them on Steam. Unless they make one uber sale (like a bundle), I probably won't buy them here...

I really wish I liked this style of game. I'm always tempted by one or two of them, but at the end of the day I hear they're really just interactive stories and often very linear at that. Which is awesome if that's your thing - but I can never quite get myself pull the trigger. Maybe next time!
The games prior to The Walking Dead are pretty normal point 'n click adventures.

But ofc I wouldn't encourage anyone to give them money because of their update policy.
Thanks, my wallet is safe :)
Yes! The Summer Sale has ended, and I managed not to buy anything more and save mon... <sees Tales from the Borderlands on sale>... son of a bitch.

No, I must be strong, damn it! Stupid GOG and their attractive discounts. How about making an anti-sale and raising prices by 60% for a few days? That way I wouldn't have any dilemmas at least :D
