Up to 75% off tales worth telling: The Wolf Among Us, Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead, and more!

We grow up listening to stories: fairy tales, folk tales, surreal tales. But what if we could invade these stories, steer them the way we wanted? Perhaps get rid of an obnoxious character, try to save someone we like, or just grill the most interesting one with questions until we learn their entire story. Such opportunities abound in the 18 games that make up The Grand Telltale Sale, where dramatic narratives and absurd adventures coexist in peace, celebrating their reunion with discounts up to 75%!

What did America ever do to deserve such relentless, unbending, highly volatile law enforcers as Sam and Max? No idea but when the talking dog - hyperkinetic lagomorph duo hits the streets you better find yourself a good view for the explosion of hilarious antics, devious puzzles, and wanton violence that ensues.

The perfect blending of heroic fantasy with inevitable brutality is what keeps people coming back to the bleak world of Game of Thrones. House Forrester is an integral part of that story and their interactions with Daenerys, Tyrion, Cersei, or even Ramsey can often be as dramatic as any episode of the hit series.

Pick your favorite tales from The Grand Telltale Sale, going for up to -75%, and prepare for some of the most fun and immersive experiences out there: Tales from the Borderlands, Hector: Badge of Carnage, Back to the Future, The Walking Dead, and many more. Your future self will remember that.
The promo will last until June 30, 4:59 PM UTC.
A week long weekend sale that starts on a Thursday...

I don't know if that makes me think a crazy new publisher event on Friday is more or less likely (I thought maybe we'd get a some kind of thing for some reason).

I really wish I liked this style of game. I'm always tempted by one or two of them, but at the end of the day I hear they're really just interactive stories and often very linear at that. Which is awesome if that's your thing - but I can never quite get myself pull the trigger. Maybe next time!
We're just about to hit the 4 year mark, and Telltale have still done nothing to fix the major bug making Sam and Max impossible to complete without a walkthrough https://www.gog.com/forum/general/weekend_promo_the_grand_telltale_sale_6e83b. Consider this before opening your wallet.
Well, after reading the reviews and watching the trailer, I decided to pick up Tales from the Borderlands. What do you know, the promo worked. :)

Already got some good laughs from the trailer. If the rest of the writing quality is up to that, should be fun. :)

The "up to 75%" seems to be because different games have different fixed discounts. The promo page however, appears to be laboring under the misapprehension that this is a "buy more, save more" sale, even though this appears not to be the case. At least, selecting certain games (The Wolf Among Us, for example) causes the text "Select more to save more" to appear, even though selecting more games with a lower discount than the ones you have already selected will cause your discount to go down, not up. Conversely, other games (Tales From The Borderlands, for instance) do not cause this text to appear.

Its writing is top-notch. Way better than the actual Borderlands series all the while never feeling strange to the original. This is Borderlands at its best.

I can see where this would be more fleshed out. B2 felt like it glossed over things at times, and didn't do enough to establish characters. It sounds weird to say about something that is ostensibly a FPS, but more story depth is a good thing.

I agree. Besides, Borderlands was more of an action RPG/FPS cross and it had a fluid on-going story all the way through the games. But it had weak writing at points. All in all though, I don't think I've spent more time on an FPS or enjoyed an FPS more, so I was wary of Telltale doing this. Sure, it's not exactly a game, rather an interactive movie, but I expected that. And turns out it's a damn good interactive movie. I could highlight some things I loved but I don't want to spoil it for you. :)

IAmSinistar: Finally, a promo that I own no games from! And probably still will afterwards. :)
When I saw Game of Thrones on sale, I came here and saw your post and thought it said "Finally, a porno that I own..." LOL

Yeah, the reason why the discount can go up or down is because each game has a fixed price as you said above, so for example the Game of Thrones game is 75% off, and the Walking Dead 400 days is 73% off (what a strange discount, I am assuming it is 75% off in the US but that that price is then rounded upward to the nearest 0.x9 in CAD and/or other currencies, slightly lowering the discount in order to show prettier prices that end in a 9 for marketing purposes), so adding both the overall discount shows as 74%. But you're not paying more and getting a lower discount on the already carted items, rather the new item added having a lower discount than the current total discount of items in the cart will lower the average discount. So it may appear that adding that second game lowers the discount on the GoT game, but one could also view it as it raising the discount on the Walking Dead DLC. Both are incorrect though due to the fixed pricing, and the total discount % is just a mathematical summing of the collective fixed discounts.

The same holds true if you select the entire collection of games - no additional discount is given for buying more than one nor buying all of them. So, it appears like a bundle does visually, but it is actually just a straight sale promo with no bundle stacking effects.

Uhm, yes. I know. That's what I wrote. The problem is that selecting some games (but weirdly only some of them) makes the text "Select more to save more" to appear, which is clearly wrong in this type of promo.

Ah, indeed you are correct! I just fiddled around and determined that it is the two Minecraft titles. If you uncheck them the "Select to save more" vanishes, but if either or both of them are checked then that text will appear.

Update:
Actually at least one more game must be unchecked for it to happen, and sometimes it occurs only if both Minecraft titles are selected, definitely some oddities to it but the Minecraft titles are what it centres around.

Update 2:
Ok I did even more tinkering and it's a bit more than that. Basically, whatever games are checked off currently will calculate an average discount % of them all, however if there are any games that are not currently checked which if you checked them off would change the average discount % to a higher number - then that message appears. But if the combination of games you have checked include the highest discounted games already and the remaining games would only keep the same average discount or lower, then the message doesn't appear.

So it seems that it is technically correct in terms of the overall discount percentage, but misleading because one could interpret it to mean that by buying more games the discount applied to any one or all of them increases, and that is incorrect.

Well, you're just looking at it wrong! The more you buy the more you save than you would do if you bought it at regular price. Duh! =P

sunshinecorp: I'd recommend Tales from the Borderlands to any fan of Borderlands. It's amazingly well written.
I've never played any Borderlands games but even though I think TftB is by far the best Telltale "game". Best story, best characters, great humor, perfect balance between humor and seriousness... I think it's even safe to say that is some good animation movie level.
Sweet time to pick a few up, Thanks gog
