Up to 75% off System Shock 2, Wings, Rocket Ranger, Earth series and more!

It's the weekend! And that means it's also time for another sale. The games are so good, we just had to come up with an awful pun to make up for it. It's Weekend Promo: FUNdamentals, with discounts up to 75% off!

How could we not start with System Shock 2 - an absolutely legendary FPS/RPG hybrid that's paved the way for not just the Bioshock series, but a huge number of modern day shooters. If you you think you've gotten all you can out of the game already, you have to check out the recently released System Shock Infinite mod which expands the story far beyond the ending of the base game - an informal sequel to the title you know and love (or are about to have a major crush on).

If you haven't played Double Fine's Psychonauts yet, now's the time. Seriously. We've also got classic adventures, including the creepy-crawly Bad Mojo Redux and the terrifying I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream, RPG epics including the Two Worlds series, and some emulated retro Amiga action with Rocket Ranger and Wings. Strategy fans - we've got you covered with Defender of the Crown and the Earth twenty-one-something series!

As always, there's more gaming goodness to be had up to 75% off - so check out this weekend's DRM-free FUNdamentals on GOG.com! The promo will last until Tuesday, March 31 at 0359Z, or 3:59 AM GMT.

cecil: Any thought on Enclave? very tempted by SS 2 if it can be fixed to solve the late 90's too dark to see much fps problem.
For that price sure. It's not the greatest game ever but for under $2 what have you got to lose?

While I agree I will ask it this way if you already have a console is it worth checking it out or is it just another hack and slash with nothing new to offer?
Does System Shock 2 have a mod to make it not so dark and easier to see and play?

Well anything is better when it's NOT on a console.

How you figure that?

XD Personal taste and nothing more. I don't like consoles but then, as I've said many times before, my taste is shit. :P

I find keyboard controls awkward. Might just get it since if nothing else it isn't like anything I have for PC and a "consolesque" game is nice to have sometimes.
Ok, I'll ask again, well will GoG get the latest patch for System Shock 2? I know that you can get it with SSTool but since Steam go an official patch, it would only be fair that we did as well >:/
... Every time System Shock 2 is on sale, I think I will grab it.
And yet, I still haven't. Not because of the money, but because I just don't feel like playing a dark FPS-RPG hybrid.

I almost feel guilty about it.

Don't look at it like that. You will miss out on one of the best games ever made. I would rank it right up there with Half-Life 1-2 in terms of immersion. The original was amazing but had some really clunky controls, and this one corrects that little problem. If you can get past the dated graphics you will find a game that really fires up the imagination. You can also bypass the whole dark/horror thing by coming to the realization that in almost every game you play something is trying to kill you, What is scarier, a zombie or a tank? Ghosts or Aliens with advanced weaponry?

Battlefield and the like are more action packed so you know there is always something trying to kill you but in "Horror" it is the what is it and where is it. The dated graphics don't bother me that much if there is a way to make everything more visible then it being all in muted browns as was the graphical issue with most FPSes from the mid to late 90's as I recall.

jamyskis: Wings and Rocket Ranger are must haves for me.
this +1... hey hows things? havent seen u for a while :)
Hmm, was considering getting one or two of the Cinemaware games but it sounds like the emulator is horrible. All the screenshots are with the wrong aspect ratio, does anyone know if there's an option in the emulator to fix that?
