So, Spain and The Netherlands in the final?

Cavalary: How exactly was that NOT a penalty for Germany in extra time?
The ref interpreted he wasn't trying to control the ball and had the arm reasonably together to the body, there was offside before the play anyway, and a possible handball from Fullkrug too

UTTER BS.

Cavalary: And Austria-Turkey (or however they want it spelled now) was the match with no clear favorite, but Austria did seem the better team, so maybe you can call it at least half a surprise to end the round.

ssling: Austria definitely did seem better, but they didn't have that England's luck. If they scored in the last minutes, they would most likely won. I'd like to cheer for Turkey to conquer Europe, but I have little faith in them to defeat another opponent. So I guess at this point I just hope England will win to piss everyone off :D
COME ON ENGLUUUUND SCOOOOREEEEE SOME GOAAAAALS
Things definitely got an interesting touch by the decision for Zwayer as referee for a game with Jude Bellingham, since it brings him into a situation where he can take revenge on Jude reminding everyone of Zwayer's entanglement in the biggest scandal in German football.

Which would then just remind everyone of his sins in the process lol
He's part of the Berlin connection. What a surprise that the ref bosses (both Berlin, one has always been the assistant of the other) nominated two Berlin refs for the tournament.
A day of mourning for the nation ;_;
It's an opportunity to get a different coach that does want to participate in matches.
The first half was so promising! It felt like were two separate matches.
Congrats Spain!

Indeed. In the second half, Spain tried to be more like France (or England) and just hold the result and France couldn't do more.
And avoiding a France-England final is a good thing in itself, that'd have most likely been a borefest.

But it is rather funny, France got to the semis without actually scoring, and once they finally did, they lost.
Yeah, it's better to laugh than to cry... anyway, with this fake-team, it's always a lot of drama to win a match in the big competitions.

So Southgate does it again. A team made of great players that doesn't look or play like, well, a team, is a bore to watch, seems to be about to lose most of the time, but somehow reaches another final...

And to check my all-too-safe predictions
Final: France - Portugal - 0/2, though that match did exist, but in the QFs
Out in SFs: Germany and England - 0/2 taken literally, 2/4 in terms of teams present at that stage
Out in QFs: Belgium, Spain, Netherlands, Switzerland - 1/4 taken literally, 7/8 in terms of teams present at that stage
At least, with the exception of Turkey instead of Belgium, I got the teams in the QFs right, but after that...
I haven't seen all the matches in this Euro, however, I didn't like what I was seeing, except for a handful of matches. Proof of this year's Euro's "quality" is that one team (France) reached the semi-finals not having scored a real goal (they had 2 opponents' own goals and 1 Mbape's penalty, prior to that match)! Spain is steadily high-class, though.

People may not want to admit it, and workers' labor conditions aside, but Qatar's World Cup had much higher quality. I am in favor of not having football tournaments in summer anymore. It is obvious that (most) players, especially those over the age of 30, have their minds on their few-days' vacations, absolutely justifiably, as their teams' preparations for the new season have started.
