David9855: As far as I'm aware the game has sold well, be careful about these sites as they are designed to get game companies to buy ad space in them and the 'journalists/ writers' usually have no clue what they are talking about. If I want to see what a game is like I read the reviews and feedback from actual gamers and watch a lets play.
The source for the game selling below expectations is CDPR itself, so it's not like Eurogamer etc have made it up; it hasn't sold well by CDPR's own measure. We don't really know if CDPR's expectations were particularly realistic, or where the break even point is so it may still have sold well in an absolute sense, just not up to inflated expectations. Personally, I'd be very surprised if it wasn't making money but just less than expected, it cannot have cost that much to make.
Really though, Thronebreaker was a bit of an uncomfortable fit. It's one of those titles where you can imagine a marketer using terms like "synergising genres" and them trying to get crossover appeal between the Gwent market and the more traditional GOG user. Practically, I think they missed the boat fairly badly on that and it had reduced instead of enhanced appeal to both Gwent users and to people who wanted a more traditional story/ strategy experience.
Personally I liked Thronebreaker though. It isn't an absolute favourite or anything, but I liked it.
