I nominate ddickinson. Go buy yourself a nice game.
If I really had to list all the people I think deserve to win, I would probably need to mention half the world! :)
I'll try to keep it brief...

Let me start with two names that -probably- cannot qualify:

-ddickinson: you, milady, are the kindest person I ever met. When I say that talking with you is always a pelasure and your presence certainly makes the forums a much better place, I'm not even considering your continuous generosity in gifting. Knowing that you have such an high opinion of me is a true honor!

-JudasIscariot: never a name was less fitting! That man is a martyr: while it's true that the forum can auto-police itself up to a certain point, I'm sure managing the entire community alone is a hard and trying work, especially now that TeT is not around.

Now, here's my "official" list:

-IAmSinistar: he is the main reason why I remained with the community in the first place, especially after the -pardon my word- shitstorm of the Ninja thread. Back then I wanted to leave, feeling insulted by how a few old timers treated the new users like me, but he made me realize that those kind of people were only a strict minority; since then, I found many nice GOGgers I wouldn't have met otherwise. Besides, his AI-precision in keeping track of useful information and excellent taste in games make him an even better memeber!

-HypersomniacLive: we shared several good discussions, and his incredible insightfulness is always capable to let me see things from a differnt perspective. I am absolutely certain he is one of the best users here, but since his humility drives him to NEVER search for praise few are those who know how great he is. Chances are that he already did you a favor, somehow, but you never knew of it.

-Grargar and

-Jmich: those two are a real mine of knowledge! Need some facts? Some souces are lacking? No problem: they will always find it and annhilate any unfounded claim (a real pleasure to watch, if you ask me). This same aspect makes them incredibly valuable on the forums for ovious reasons.
Plus, one day Gragrar gifted me Desperados out of the blue... and that was imo the best game I have palyed this year, so I'm doubly grateful!

-Barefoot_Monkey: his great plugin made navigation trough the forums easy and comfortable, also solving several problems of the community in one move (see the anti-giveaway crowd, for example). Since unfortunately the site "revamp" distrupted some of its functions, I am eagerly awaiting the new verion! In the meantime, he has my maximum respect and all my best wishes. By the way... GOG! Stop doing whatever you're doing and hire him! NOW!

-mrkgnao: just one word – MaGog. Do I need to say more? ;)

-DeMignon: I don't see him very often in the General Discussion, but his presence is a true blessing in the subforums. He is probably the most helpful user in that regard, and his fast replies are usually the solutions for any kind of problem you can have with a game. A really underappreciated member.

-Ragnarblackmane: a nice and chatty dwarf who prefers to split his treasure with others rather than to keep it for himself. His knowledge of history made for several interesting topics, but what I appreciate the most is the fact that he never fears to directly speak his mind, being always himself no matter the cost.

-Sachys and

-foworks: not for their gifting habit per se, but for their continuos effort in making the community a better place, constantly fighting parasites, profiteers and practices that, while undoubtedly sustained by good intentions, in the end hurt the community as a whole.

-tfishell: for his relentless crusade focused on conquering the attention of big publishers!

-trentonlf: if you search in the illusrtated vocabulary under the voice "positivity", you'll find his picture! His presence here brings always a good mood, and this is certainly not due only to the infinite amount of "gifting sprees" he scores! ;)

-awalterj: he is a real traveller, and someone who can evidently catch the essence in what he sees, as proven by his excellent sketches. Reading his informative, interesting, unusual and sometimes weird posts is always a real pleasure, as they hightlight many apsects that a normal observer couldn't spot so easily.

Enebias: -JudasIscariot: never a name was less fitting! That man is a martyr: ...
Why not fitting? The biblical Judas was a martyr too, who did what God wanted him to do. Think about it, without him the entire 'dying for our sins', i.e. the entire point of the incarnation of Christ, would not have come to pass. Judas just saw to it that everything worked as intended (like an admin does) and got lots of blame for it afterwards (which also happens to admins...) So all in all a fitting name. ;-)
Awesome giveaway. Thanks for being such a generous and caring member, ddickinson!

I'd like to nominate tinyE and F4LLOUT for just being generally polite, hilarious, and making me smile pretty much everyday. You often cheer me up on really crummy days.

tfishell for his/her absolutely incredible ability to track down information on games, their rights holders, and other valuable info, and then putting everything he/she knows into very good and comprehensive lists and posts.

And Austrobogulator, whose name I almost never spell right, for maintaining my favorite thread - the Games Finished in 2014 thread, as well as last year's thread. And for just always being a pleasant person.

Also P1na, for being one of the few people that I think loves Deus Ex even more than I do - so much that he/she has given it away at least eleven times now.

Thank you all, and thanks to many others I didn't mention, for making this a fun place to hang out.

I nominate for HypersomniacLive! Why? Because it's the person who convinced me to start buying more games from GOG, even when i can't actually afford to buy them.. I mean, WTF? :-DDDD

If you put it that way, it works just fine! :)
It's more an Italian thing, actually: "essere un Giuda" (being a Judas) is an idiom used as synonym for "worst kind of trairor". Poor Judas, no respect for him...
Small historical fact -and sorry for the derail: the other Judas (Thaddeus) is also called "the saint of the lost causes" because, during the middle ages, unlike other saints people avoided to call for his intercession due to the fact that they feared their prayer would be heard from the "evil" Iscariot instead, addressing him only when they thought no other saint helped them.

If you're getting the story from the canonical gospels, then it's pretty clear a lot of people wanted Jesus dead. No indication that they couldn't have done it without Judas. Also pretty clear that it was a bad thing he did.

If you're getting the story from other sources - gnostic gospels, etc., then draw whatever conclusions you want.
high rated
Most of the people I am "closest" to have already been nominated, so I will add the names of people who (as far as I know -- I could have missed it!) have not yet been mentioned (and no, I didn't ask them if they'd consent to be nominated, first).

In no particular order:

niniendowarrior and liquidsnake, for many fun and interesting IM conversations.
alexkoti for trusting a total newbie (me) and being the first person I traded with. He has always been a joy to talk to, and he is just a super-nice person.
Leroux for his honesty in telling me, in the middle of a trade, that I could just buy the game in a bundle for a dollar.
samlii for gifting a very nice bundle to a total newbie (me again ;D ) just because there was ONE game I really wanted in the bundle (I gave the rest away in the Ninja thread, way back when) I've never forgotten that act of random kindness ♥
Dzsono for random kindness and fun conversations
adambiser and hummer010, because when someone was giving away a game (when I wasn't around) that was on my wishlist, they BOTH spoke up for me. ♥
SCPM, for randomly gifting Trails in the Sky by Falcom to me when he saw that I wanted it. SCPM is the reason that I now have Feena from Ys. Chronicles I & II, which is also made by Falcom. I was not the only person he gifted the game to, and the random kindness was not only generous, but touching.
Spinorial for some fun conversations!
DeMignon for being an upstanding person and disagreeing with me in a respectful manner with no hard feelings on either side in the end :D
awalterj for making me cry here
chevkoch for being an incredibly nice person.
Marci87 for being honorable, and allowing me to trade GOG games for his extra Warlock 2 codes for what he paid ($5.99 in an Amazon glitch) It wasn't until I was getting the second code (the first was a birthday present for my brother) that I realized that he really wasn't really interested in any more $5.99 games here, but he was STILL going to make the trade! (I gave him a $9.99 game for the second code, which I kept for myself.) Thank you, Marci!

Look at how many people have made an impact on my life in the short time I've been posting here (since March)! There are so many others, but either they have already been mentioned, they've not posted in a long time (not sure if they're still around), or they've specifically said that they do NOT wish to be nominated in this kind of giveaway (gives Tarnicus a steely gaze -- Yes, I'm talkin' 'bout you!)

One exception to the "not posted in a long time" nominee would be alloy627, who has been having a VERY hard time in real life lately. Perhaps she'll come back if she sees that she's appreciated :)

She's already been nominated, but I wanted to single out the "board mother", Momo1991. She gets a special post all to herself XD

It all started with a gift. Momo had messaged me about a game on my trading list, and she didn't have anything I was interested in, so I told her to just take it. What did I get in response? "GIFTING WAR!" lol~! From there it dominoed into many a message to IM'ing at Steam, and her walking me through the ins and outs of Steam, GOG, and life in general. When I was lost and desperate, not only did she listen to my venting, she gave me a way to deal with it, spending her own time to research ways to help me.

After months of drama and incredible stress, I've moved and am now the proud owner of an actual mortgage, paying towards owning my own home instead of paying for someone else's.

All of this while she's going through her own drama!

Blessings to you, Momo. Thank you for changing my life! ♥

I second this. Momo had brought so much to the forums and to everyone she comes in contact with. She is the thread the binds these forums together.
