Could you send them an email suggesting that they contact GOG about re-releases of Dragonflight and Amberstar (and perhaps other http://www.mobygames.com/company/computec-media-ag games, if anybody knows which ones are good) if the rights are still with them? I don't know whether or not to assume they would pay attention to an English email, lol. (And I'm pretty sure Google Translate wouldn't do a good job. :P) Plus you probably have the German "vibe" about the way you write. ;)

Amberstar is a great game, it would also be great to get a rerelease because the game was never actually officially released in English, it was translated but as I understand Thalion went out of business before it could be released. Former Thalion developers eventually released the translation so English gamers could play it via an Emulator.

Also there's another fantastic amiga German RPG called Fate - Gates of Dawn which was famed for having a massive game would which could take the player up to a MONTH (actual time) to journey from one corner of the world to the other, also you could have like 26 characters split between 5 parties. The game was actually released in English but only a handful of copies ever made it into the West before the company (Redline or something) went bankrupt.

That sounds intriguing.

The problem I see is that the DOS port was never completed, could GOG fix that? I have no clue of the technical backend GOG uses to get the games running here...

A guy called Dieter Eckhardt who worked with Holger Gehrmann at a company called Golden Games before Holger founded reLine is said to have "reactivated" the lable reLine to publish a new version of "Hollywood Poker" for Android.
Hollywood Poker was made by Golden Games. reLine made Hollywood Poker Pro way back then.
Anyway, do you think it would be worth to ask this guy Dieter Eckhardt about the reLine game rights although he never worked for them?

Also I needed a registered version of WHDLoad, because the game doesn't store memory properly or something.

But yeah, Amiga games are probably out of the question at least until GOG makes an agreement with the people who own what's left of Amiga's rights.

Over the past few days I've sent e-mails to Steve Moretzky inquiring about Legend Entertainment titles' rights, Trevor Sorensen about Supernova Creations' games like the Star Fleet series, Ali Naci Atabek about Mindcraft Games, and Pascal Stradella about Hexplore. Also tried contacting a bunch of companies like Amiga Games Inc, Remedy, id, Interplay, Sega, Tecmo Koei, Zenimax, Throwback Entertainment, and others. Haven't heard back from anyone yet. =/ If I don't hear anything by the end of the month, I'll try contacting them again by different means.

I asked the devs behind the Transport Tycoon mobile game about bringing the old games back to GOG, and all they said was that their priority right now was working on the mobile version, which sounds like they're at least open to the idea.

What did you want to know from Remedy? Remedy own the Death Rally and Alan Wake IP's and Take Two owns the Max Payne IP(After buying it from 3D Realms and Remedy back in 2002).

How about id Software?

I only tweeted to Remedy that I'd like to see Death Rally 3D on GOG. I already finished the game when they had the free weekend on Steam, and I know having it here would mean removing Steamworks integration, and thus, multi-player functionality, but I'd still buy it if it came here.
As for id, I was just expressing interest in having their games here as well. I still have my physical copies of pretty much everything from Commander Keen 1 to Doom 3, and I bought Rage on Steam.

I would certainly want id to come to GOG. GOG have identified Microsoft, Take Two and LucasArts/Disney as their top three publishers they want to come here but ZeniMax/Bethesda Softworks is very much up there as well. A contender for 4th place for sure.

Do we have any hint as to how the Quakecon event went?

It's my understanding that they were mostly a regional distributor. Was there a particular game related to them that you were looking for?
