Here are some of the titles Atari is auctioning off. You can find the full list here, under Exhibit B (page 74):
http://docs.bmcgroup.com/Atari/nysb_1-13-bk-10176_313.pdf
7th Legion
BloodNet
Deadlock 1 + 2
Eradicator
Elite
Gunship + Gunship 2000
Nam
Orbiter
Redline
Shadow Ops: Red Mercury
Sid Meier's Covert Action
Silent Service 1 + 2
Slave Zero
This Means War!

Edit: It says in that document that they sold certain titles from the list to Tommo, but I don't know which ones. I think it's the ones that are struck-through. Err, or maybe everything except the ones that are struck-through. There's a lot of legalese to interpret there. At least, it would be nice to have all those games in one place instead of divided up among dozens of different places, as long as they were willing to work with GOG.

I know Humongous Entertainment games went to Tommo, aside from the Backyard Sports ones. I sent them a message a few weeks ago, but I think I will try again. EDIT: Tweeted and Facebook'd them about more HE and other Atari classics. I always tag GOG, so hopefully GOG will see they're tagged and consider following up on items like these.

I just wanted to let SCPM, RaggieRags, and the others that mentioned FTL and Thalion games that I've renewed efforts to make contact. I sent a message to the studio where Holger Flottman (of Thalion) appears to be working now, Gaming Minds Studios.

I also sent Nancy Holder a respectable, professional message on her Facebook page. (I'm also trying to contact Doug Bell, as co-authored a book or two with Wayne. I sent a message to Trion Worlds Inc. hoping they would pass on my request to Doug at the San Diego studio [BIG longshot]; very strange timing is that apparently it was just announced today that the San Diego studio was being shut down! Ugh. I may also try sending a message to Riot Games which I believe is Doug used to work.

Here's Doug's profile on LinkedIn; it looks a bit more active than several I've come across: http://www.linkedin.com/in/dougabell (I may see if Night Dive can help me out again, but it seems a little bit soon given the shut down news.)

Dungeon Master has a forum here - http://www.dungeon-master.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=56 - and I tried to post a topic asking if anyone had contact info, but things went weird and my new thread didn't appear to get posted. Somebody else is welcome to try.

GOG/Turnipslayerr, PLEASE CONSIDER: according to Bruce Webster, Wayne Holder is the final stop in this FTL journey ("Wayne holds all the FTL rights"), so getting in contact with him is crucial. Eventually I /may/ bother Night Dive again, this time about contacting Doug Bell on LinkedIn, but I'd rather GOG make an effort instead. At some point please consider contacting Doug Bell at his LinkedIn account - http://www.linkedin.com/in/dougabell - to see if he has contact info for Wayne.

Could somebody let me know what MS-DOS titles might be worth re-releasing from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loriciels ? I'm not sure it's worth contacting for Jim Power if it's only available on Amiga

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------

Traders: The Intergalactic Trading Game and Kronolog: The Nazi Paradox

Is it worth trying to track down the rights to this game - http://www.mobygames.com/game/traders-the-intergalactic-trading-game - or this one - http://www.mobygames.com/game/kronolog-the-nazi-paradox ? I don't believe anyone has voiced their opinions about these.

EDIT: I guess Merit Studios (of Harvester fame) are the same publisher as Merit Software. -_- Sheesh...

No, that's mine. Turns out it just needed to be mod approved. :)

I only know Bumpy's Arcade Fantasy and it's not really worthy to be released here. Generic platformer with a slight puzzle elements (sometimes it's not so obvious how to beat the screen). Nothing special

OMG if Atari have been sitting on the rights to stuff like Bloodnet and Slave Zero all this time it makes me said that they didn't come to GOG years ago!

tfishell: EDIT: Evidence suggest http://thalion.exotica.org.uk/ may still be up and running (at least in 2011), so I'm going to try to make contact with the person at the email address provided here: http://thalion.exotica.org.uk/info.html .
See PM

Just sent a message to http://www.adeptsoftware.com/ about releasing Jetpack, Jetpack 2, and God of Thunder on GOG. Based on screenshots, Jetpack doesn't seem to be anything special, but it got good reviews and lots of downloads (apparently over 1 million from Adept's site alone), so I figured offering up the idea of a GOG release couldn't hurt.

------------
There is a Jetpack 2??? And nobody told me?!?!

Holy crap I need to preorder.

Edit:

Made a wishlist entry: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/games/jetpack_2

Go smack that vote button! And play the original if you haven't!

tfishell: Magic & Mayhem looks like a very interesting game from Virgin Interactive! (Don't actually know about gameplay, though, and I can't figure out what happened to Virgin's rights after Avalon Interactive went under)
I played the German version of that back in the day. It certainly was interesting, but also a little too hard for me. I always wanted to get back to it, and try to finish the game, but I never got around to it. Heck, I don't even know, if I still have the game.

Anyhow, as far as I remember, you're playing a sorcerer, who got transported from the real world to a fantasy world, in search of your uncle.
The game is a RTS, with a little bit of RPG in that you can gain XP, which are then used to improve your stats.
You use your character on the map to cast spells, and summon creatures, in order to fulfill your mission objective. To get the necessary mana, however, you need to take control of some sort of mana wells with one of your summons (or yourself). You then also need to protect them, or the enemy will try to take control of the wells himself.
The controls were more or less standard RTS fair, as far as I recall. I'm not sure, however, if it was closer to WarCraft or C&C in that regard.
What I remember the most about, though, is the spell creation system. You make spells by combining talismans with different types of reagents (like mandrake root). There were three types of talismans (law, nature, and chaos, if I recall correctly), and a dozen or so reagents. Each reagent can create three different spells, depending on the type of talisman you use it with. The amount of talismans can be increased by spending XP. Reagents, however, need to be found. This makes for an intricate system in finding out what spell is the most useful for your strategy.

All in all, I think it is worthy of a re-release on GOG.com. It may not be the best game, or more people would remember it, but it is definitely a underrated gem, in my opinion.

Sadly, most of the Loriciels catalogue doesn't stand up to the test of time. Their adventure titles like Orphée: Voyage aux Enfers and Top Secret are probably among their better games, but the graphics and play mechanics are too dated to interest most people. Their more popular titles, like , [url=http://www.mobygames.com/game/entity]Entity, and Jim Power in "Mutant Planet", all did fair on the Amiga and have DOS versions, but none are especially compelling. That being said, I have not played D-Day, and admit it looks pretty interesting and may be worth checking into.
Any reply/acknowledgement from the GOG folks yet?
Are you aware that Sin Episodes: Emergence is still available on Steam but the original 'SiN' isn't? Apparently Ritual Entertainment were acquired by a company called Mumbo Jumbo who make casual games, might be worth asking them if they'd be prepared to bring SiN here? Doubtful but you never know unless you ask...
