Did anyone try Sid Meier's Pirates! in Wine? I just bought it and will test it sometime soon.

UPDATE: it works pretty well (1.9.5-staging, no overrides).

Hopefully GOG will also get the Linux/OSX versions, and not just steam

unless you actively name that you use PoL they'll accept your report. I found that there isn't really tha much difference that I can notice between running a game via PoL and Native wine

It doesn't matter. I also use it and added Wine appdb entries just fine. Just report Wine version, that's all. Don't mention POL.

There shouldn't be any difference, at least when using the manual install options. I'm submitting reports for CrossOver though.

rampancy: I just wanted to add to this that I experienced some redraw errors that led to UI issues on OS X that were cleared up by setting ddr=gdi in winetricks.

So, is there a coherent entry for Grim Dawn? I ask as I did not follow what everyone did or did not do to get it running.

Also, rzip is your friend. Works quite well on larger log files.

You'll get a native version of Grim Dawn before a coherent AppDB entry is made for that game :P
Grim Dawn

Wine Staging 1.9.5 CSMT (GOG version is broken with 1.9.6, regression already fixed in git). You do stuff and it works:

JudasIscariot: Also, here's the AppDB entry for Grim Dawn: https://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=29162
avatar
JudasIscariot: Wine-gaming-nine which is basically Wine 1.9.5-staging with the Gallium patches and some other patches added in.

In any case, the game works fine under Wine-1.9.5-staging with CSMT enabled. I need to try some tweaks and run the game under my i3 window manager as GNOME3 eats up a lot of memory and this is quite a demanding game :)

MikeMaximus: I just want to add that if anyone still has invisible textures problems after following the AppDB instructions. Try adding a new registry key HKCU/Software/Wine/Direct3D/CheckFloatConstants (REG_SZ) and set it to enabled. That fixed the problem for me without even messing with any nVidia settings.
