Quick info, the the Wiki is receiving a major system upgrade the next few days (database is enormous with 1GB of size, thanks all for the efforts during my absence) :)

The Wiki will be available as long as the back ups are being run, but please note that any change (from now on, until the upgrad has been completed) could get lost.

The GOGWiki is updated to the latest Wiki Version.

One major change is, that you can now request a member account directly on the page. All request will be handled manually in order to fight Spam.

Additionally, the page now runs always using 'https'.

Please also note, that the software is not jet running at 100% and you might experience some weird things. One big issue at the moment is the GOG Integration, which is currently being worked on and very hopefully you can show off your library again soon.

Most of the work from my end is done now. The custom tags for displaying shelves, wishlists and such are all working, as far as I can see. I just need to port over the special page that map users to their user pages (so you can click on someone's name in the forum to go to their page on the wiki) and the one to accept updates from Barefoot Essentials (so that you can update your collection/wishlist on the wiki). I'll take a break for now and see if I can do that tomorrow night. Once that's done all that's left is bringing back the GOG wiki skin.
Jeez I have not seen TheJoe on the forums in awhile.

And man I almost forgot about gameon and the whole fallout.

He left because he said myself a few others ruined it.

He has a point. :P

If you want to talk to him he's on GOG IRC.

Yeah, the Joe. Gameon never said a word to me or about me in the short time we were here together.

Thank you all for your hard work.

I'm curious about one thing - I've not updated my GOGWiki page in ages and it's all a mess now. Will the the previous (outdated) info be restored at some point, or is that lost for ever?
Great news! I finally got all the custom code ported to the new version, so shelves and syncing are back in business.

I see that you haven't updated since GOG de-bundled the shelf. If you sync now your user page will show the new shelf. But your old data will still be there.

Right now you use the tag <gog-shelf user="HypersomniacLive" /> to display your shelf. That was the original tag that I made, which I keep for backward compatibility, but there are new ones available. You can say <gog-games /> (no need to write your name explicitly anymore) to display your shelf, or <gog-legacy-shelf /> to show your old shelf (frozen with the contents you have now). So you can freely sync without having to worry about losing your legacy data.

Great news, indeed! Thanks for all the hard work, and for the instructions, but I'm good, my page now displays exactly like it did before, that's all I wanted.
Is the wiki still active?
It seems broken in at least two ways:

1) The account registration page doesn't show anything, making it impossible to request an account:
https://www.gogwiki.com/wiki/Special:RequestAccount

2) The following pages are supposed to exist (they are linked to both from within the wiki, and from Google search results), but they cannot be loaded:
http://www.gogwiki.com/wiki/Category:Baldur's_Gate_series
http://www.gogwiki.com/wiki/Baldur's_Gate_II:_Shadows_of_Amn
(Maybe it's related to the fact that their URLs contain an apostrophe?)

It is indeed active. Ubivis did a major upgrade just a few days ago. Thank you for letting us know about these problems.

It seems like (2) is a bug introduced in MediaWiki version 1.26. I was able to dive into the source code and make a fix for that, and it seems to work now.

(1) looks like a runtime error that occurs only when viewing Special:RequestAccount while not logged in. I think we'll have to wait for Ubivis to look at that. In the meantime, I have enough access to create an account on your behalf. Just send me a PM with your preferred username and I'll make an account for you.
I just created this product page on the wiki, but in the sidebar under "Installer Information" it says "Entry not found".

What did I do wrong? I used the exact name that its GOG.com product page calls the game.

PS: Also, what's that "<google1 style="1"></google1>" at the bottom of the sidebar?

It's cool that you jumped into writing articles right away. Nice going :)

I don't think you did anything wrong. It looks like you have everything perfect. I don't personally know the underlying mechanics of the sidebar, but as I understand it information about the installers and such is maintained elsewhere and will reflect on your product page as soon as someone adds the metadata... wherever it goes. Ah - here it is: Template:Installerinfo.

I'll just bump this thread in the hopes that someone more in-the-know can explain how that works.
