ConsulCaesar: I now realize, with the show being centered in Section 31, the scapegoat thing will probably happen all the time. Oh well, maybe we'll get to see how the Federation is truly ruled.
We know how it's truly ruled. I have no interest in Star Trek getting completley dragged trhough the mud and the Federation revealed to be some dictatorship or whatever your pet theory is (no offense, you have fun with whatever theory makes it fun for you).

ConsulCaesar: I think, more than deciding to make a Section 31 show, they wanted to give a show to Michelle Yeoh (she's obviously having a blast with Star Trek and I am having a blast whenever she's on screen),
Well, good for you. Me, I find her boring and with all the charisma of a blank wall.

ConsulCaesar: I think the "not dark and edgy" stuff will be covered by the Picard show.
I'm pretty sure this will be dark and gloomy as well, with Picard essentially getting the Last Jedi treatment. They already talked a lot about how he's going to be all different and not the Picard we know. He'll probably die at the end of the first season too.

None taken. It's just that there are some weird things that I noticed while watching TNG and DS9 that only make sense if the Federaton is a democracy in name only, ruled by the Starship Admirals (note that I only started watching these shows a few years ago, so I watched them with a different eye than those that have been fans for decades). But it's just my head canon, I would never expect it to become canon (I probably wouldn't want it to be official, either).
